波士顿公共图书馆是美国最早的免费公共图书馆，这样的图书馆在波士顿这个非常有历史沉淀的地方一点也不意外。图书馆里有非常丰富的藏书，并且在图书馆的中间还有一个很大的花园，并且有WIFI。 天气好的时候去坐坐或者信手拿一本书，在喷泉旁边，伴着精美的欧式建筑，也是很美好的。

美国的图书馆真的很多 由此也可见 美国对于教育的重视 基本上每个小镇都有 而对于boston这个城市而言 更是不例外 boston的公立图书馆的位置也很好 就在copley广场上 市中心 里面有很多书 以及影碟之类 可以借阅也可以在里面看 周末放松的一个好去处

波士顿公共图书馆是美国的一个大型公共图书馆，也是美国第一家允许个人把书籍借回家阅读的图书馆。这个始建于十九世纪中叶的建筑绝对是波士顿最美的公共建筑之一。各色大理石配合精美的壁画，成就了一个气势恢宏的建筑。建筑中心天井里的喷泉是阅读劳累时放松的好地方。图书馆全年免费向游人开放，周日闭馆。

此次美国东部之星，最喜欢的要数波士顿和华盛顿的两个图书馆，实在是非常漂亮，进到图书管里非常的安静，所有的装饰都非常的古典而漂亮。

波士顿公共图书馆位于copley中心，旁边就是三一教堂，乘坐green line地铁到copley下车就是了。图书馆内的景观也是一个景点，照片上是园内的天井，游人可以在四周的椅子上看书或休息。晚上这里可以吃饭，没去，不过好像挺贵的。馆内藏书对所有人开放，游客也可以来借书。阅览室每个座位上有一盏绿色的台灯，好多人来这就是学习或工作，气氛肃静又温暖。据说冬天会有一些流浪者来这里取暖，人们也不会介意。

With everything being closed due to snow we had to think outside the box a bit. This was a great place to visit. Free in and parts of it looked more like a palace than a library!

One of the great sites near Copley Square- murals on 2nd and 3rd floors by Abbey and John Singer-Sargeant are a wonderful reminder of what public works used to be like. The library's reading room is a classic- wooden tables, green-shaded lamps, tall vaulted ceiling with carved ornamentation.

If you are anywhere near Copley Square, you must at the very least walk into the library and explore the two floors by the front entry. The craftsmanship of wood and marble are really comparable to the Library of Congress in D.C. As mentioned in a previous post, there is a T station located right next to the library.

It's definitely worth popping in if you're near Copley Square. The architecture is stunning and the interior courtyard is a lovely surprise. A lovely place to warm up, relax and theres a cafe too.

Nice place to hang out and more books and study spaces than you can imagine! Very pretty and cute. Check out the church around the corner too

Well worth a 90 minute look at the classic McKim White architecture plus the totally fabulous Sargeant room. The docent led tours (try to get Daniel...he is special) are mostly everyday but at different times so check the website. If you love art, you will love this building.

Beautiful library, but not as inspiring as a library can be. The building is a must see in the city with its historical architecture.

Beautiful building - three floors - well worth a visit. Open 7 days a week although sunday only for a few hours.

The Boston Public Library is open to anyone, no fee or card required, and offers more art than some private museums do. There are tours (http://www.bpl.org/central/tours.htm), or you can take a self-guided tour. A few highlights are "The Quest and Achievement of the Holy Grail," murals by Edwin Austin Abbey, which fills most of the Abbey Room; the wall paintings representing the arts, humanities, and sciences, by Puvis de Chavannes, which line the wide marble stairways; the history of religion murals by John Singer Sargent; and the ceiling decoration "The Triumph of Time" in the Elliott Room. There is also a cafe with (in season) outdoor seating in a large courtyard; a very large research room with long tables equipped with reading lamps and WiFi; sculpture inside and outside the library; and of course lots of books, CDs, and other media.The library is across a square from historic Trinity Chapel, which also offers guided tours (and is open for free at 12:30 on Sundays) and sometimes organ recitals.
