It is next to the park and as others have said you can people watch, relax, read, etc.It was beautiful at night lit up during the Holidays and many people are around in and in a festive mood.Coffee shop is just down the street also which is a plus if you have been traveling all day.Recommended for photos at night.

This cathedral is in the center of Matagalpa, right next to the central park (with wifi now), it is open everyday, clean, quiet and you can wonder around

What's more to say? I'm not much of a church expert, but I do peek into all of them and get surprised by a few. Look for bullet holes from the revolution and/or contra war in the church bells. Actually you can find quite a few around town in metal structures or old fences if they don't interfere with function and that kind of thing amuses you.

I have been there several times and find the church to be in good conditon and nice inside.It is well above average compared to other Catholic Churches I have been to in Latin America. It is located next to a park which can be quite dangerous after dark so be careful. Also, look out for the many vehicles traveling in both directions in front of the church as there is no speed limit and many reckless drivers. On church grounds, all is safe, but once one steps onto the sidewalk in front, expect to harnessed by beggars.

Es imponente, una de los mejores templos que tiene la iglesia catolica en Nicaragua, su construccion es de tipo colonial. Un orgullo para los matagalpinos.

Katedralen i Matagalpa er en af de smukkeste i hele Nicaragua, som den ligger midt i byen og lyser op som et samlingspunkt. Omgivelserne var under renovering, og vil helt sikkert gøre området endnu bedre.

Se alza blanca e imponente en el animado Parque Morazán de Matagalpa, aunque su interior no es muy atractivo. Se distingue claramente desde cualquier mirador de la ciudad. Cuando fuimos estaban acondicionando el pavimento exterior de uno de sus laterales.
