The trail out to Playa Bluff from Bocas Town is an adventure in itself, with the sea washing across your path, and having already taken big chunks out of the road in parts. The end spot of Playa Hluff is a beautiful pristine beach, but wild - even standing in shallow water to take photos, you could feel the drag of water, so not for swimming, just for sightseeing!

Great white sand beach. Waves can get rough so be careful but great for surfing. If have it in you, you can easily find own little piece all on your own. Couple restaurants as well.

Great place to relax and or surf. Not a great swimming beach but there's a lot to offer for anyone here. We did feel like the food at the restaurant was slightly overpriced but the drinks were tasty

We stayed at Playa Bluff at La Plantation so walking the endless beach and rainforest trails were nearby and happy experiences. Signs warn of rip tides and currents but plenty of people swim there and the surfers are undeterred. This place is far from the madding crowds of Bocas Town where it can be hectic. It is quiet; you hear only your own thoughts and the crashing waves. Very few people are seen on this beach so stripping off your swim suit and sunbathing naked is possible and the locals say people do it often there. The trails away from the beach will take you to see sloths, howler monkeys and may other flora and fauna of the area in a private 1,500 acres completely natural setting. This is a breathtaking experience.Go for the solitude.

There were tons of surfers out during the day. Big short break waves made for quality viewing from the beach. Beach walks in the evening were romantic & beautiful

This beach is out of the way to reach - a car or mountain bike is ideal - but it is beautiful and quite empty during the week. I think that surfers enjoy this beach because of the waves, which make the beach not a place for casual swimmers.

Very welcoming, Stephanie is great and engaged. Staff is fun. Finally saw a sloth that hangs out in the garden. Awesome wildlife in the back, fun to hang out on the porch or hit the beautiful beach with nice waves. Wish we had more time to stay.

very pretty with 2 beach bars/restaurants on site. perfect for surfers apparently but we did not risk the huge waves and rip tide to swim.

Imagine having a private chef, your own wine steward, outstanding offerings of new world wines of Argentina and Chile and 4-star dining by lantern light just 20 yards from the waves of Bluff Beach. Oh and all of this is accomplished completely off the grid. Yup, with solar power and rain water tanks. An incredible experience. There are times of rain or extreme high tides that taxis will be unable to get you all the way to the restaurant. It's okay. Kick off your shoes, hike up your dress and walk and wade the rest of the way. It's worth every step and you have a great story to tell about your night on Playa Bluff.

A really great beach closer to nature than those in town and still with some great restaurants, bars and places to stay. Great for those wanting to avoid the crowds.

Beach is good if you like huge shore waves, take some bug reppelent with you (you´ll need it). Restaurants was ok, nothing special, hamburger was cold and didn´t really taste too good. rolls are a little better and service a little slow. Pool is cool.

It is amazing to find such a beautiful beach on a well-known island with so few people. This beach is long and absolutely beautiful. We were impressed that such a beautiful beach was not flooded by tourists and surfers. Absolutely gorgeous! The waves, however, can be pretty rough and dangerous. Since it is a surfing beach people who do not know how to swim or understand that waves can be unpredictable should be very careful. You don’t have to swim in the ocean to enjoy this beach, but if you do be cautious. Probably the best place to enjoy Playa Bluff would be the Beach Bar which is closely located to the Turtle Beach House (a wonderful place in paradise by the way).

Walk for miles without seeing a single person, (except the furthest on the beach bamboo made bar!)Perfect for experienced surfers note there are dangerous rip tides and Big waves; ONLY SWIM FOR THE STRONG AND EXPERIENCED!) This is a dream deserted beach for miles, please respect it, and let's ALL keep it this way (& report ANY illegal stupid quad bikes!) this is a designated turtle nesting zone.Idilic in every true sense.

As with other reviews, this is a beautiful beach. Huge waves, but definitely be cautious when in the water. The rip currents are strong. If you are not a strong swimmer, you may want to avoid getting into the water. Nice beachside bar in the area with friendly staff.

The sea might not treat you kindly here (as the signs almost everywhere on the beach will tell you: there are "killer" waves). But the place is marvelously relaxing, and the beach is long enough to enjoy a long long walk. If you want to enjoy some company and a well-prepared drink head to Island Plantation's beach bar.
