Strategic Fort across the Jetty & Moti Daman Fort. These two forts must have controlled the access /Entry/ Exit into or out of Daman using the Daman Ganga river which flows into Arabian sea here.Its a pity locals have exploited it in a bad way. Some using the walls as urinals, So much for Swach Bharat Abhiyan. Seems some conservation being done here now.This much smaller Fort houses a small church & a cemetery which is still in use from its looks. The grave stones also depict the Portuguese influence & culture.This one has a lovely view of the jetty, with fishing boats lined up & anchored close to it.Its just across the Moti daman fort which is a major landmark of Daman. This one is also worth some of your time there..

The fort is like the countless across our country. The aesthetic appeal could be definitely improved. The fort offers a good view of the surrounding backwaters

When u enter this territory, nothing is so great in this place. It's a so called fort. Yes, using the fort wall they have raised many new structures inside the compound.

It's an imposing fort and the top offers a lovely view of Moti Daman and Nani Daman. You will find a lot of boats anchored on either bank of the backwater that separates Moti Daman from Nani Daman. However, they don't carry passengers, but are only used by fishermen.

Seems like empty ground surrounded by fort walls. Facade looks like u are up for something good but inside it was just disappointing. U do see harbour as you climb the fort walls but nothing else. Unlike other forts, it didn't tell me anything about its heritage n history.

After having been to Moti Daman Fort, I had no expectations from this one. But this one turned out to be better. Atleast it felt like we had entered something that can be called a fort. There was a church, a school and a cemetery inside the fort. The walls of the fort were in bad condition and there was garbage littered all around.

The fort is situated in Nani Daman. There is nothing worthwhile to see or admire in the fort. Its just 4 wall and nothing else to see. There is a church inside the fort however the same was closed in the evening... The view however from the fort is quite nice

This Fort has been completely ruined. We noticed a bad odour as we entered the premises. We saw labours were removing some PCC work done on the front walls, and wondered what was the need; probably done with an intention of reinforcement. But such work, if done without considering the natural beauty of the heritage structure, will not give the desired result There is a graveyard inside the fort and it seems that the area is being used now for burial. There are also two rooms facing each other, which looked like jails and an area like courtyardInsider the fort there is a church and a Government Office & quarters. Within the walls in front of the church there is a small ground and we saw people were learning two-wheeler driving there.Though the fort is in a dilapidated condition and the grave yard made it a perfect fit for a horror movie, I feel in the evening you can have a nice view of the sun-set from the top of the fort as this is near the sea and there is no building hindering the view in between Besides us there were hardly any visitors / tourist and if you are not too much into archaeology, can give the place a miss

The fort is mostly ruined but in a very ideal location for the time frame when it was built. Not much to explore since the fort is very small. Definitely worth seeing if one is visiting Daman.

Similar to any other Portuguese fort in India, this monument is also neglected by the local authorities. The interior structures are in ruins and filled with graffiti where local children play.

This is a well preserved fort - at least from the outside, as regards the walls. The interior is a bit bare, and the church inside has become a church. Smaller than the fort surrounding Damao Grande, across the river

We went with a lot of expectation but there was not much to see. The ruin is in a bad shape and not maintained at all. But, it does offer some nice views of the river & sea from the top of the walls.

Not much to see here except a fort that is not very magestic but has some history to it. I liked the surroundings and some really old trees in the fort... it's well connected to Jampore beach and on way to the Somnath temple so it can be visited quite easily. No museums in the fort that were open at 5sh pm and no guides available either.

Also known as Nani Daman Fort, this one is the smaller of the two forts in Daman. The area is poorly maintained & there is not a lot to see here except 'Our lady of the Sea Church', which was closed when we got there in evening. But, it does offer some nice views of the river & sea from the top of the walls.
