The rest is history, one of the most variety mountain slope in niseko definitely, many black and red slope too for those wanting a more challenging ski trip ! Don't miss these place out! We did all our beginner ski lessons here and it has 3 magic carpets in the beginner areas. The beginner slopes are steeper than those in Niseko Village, and the longer magic carpet kept stalling and stopping, and took ages to reach the top. Aside from that the snow here was wonderful and the kids had fun playing at the side with all the snow. They also have snow tube rentals which were pretty fun, except for the long magic carpet ride back up again. The cafe here was more pricey and with a lot less choice compared to Annupuri, however its more modern and has free wifi throughout the building. The free shuttles were also quite frequent and we hardly had to wait very long to hop onto one. Overall a pleasant experience.

Not as crowded compared to Hirafu and definitely more expansive training grounds. We especially appreciated that we could rent all our ski equipment and leave it there night after night while we train. This way you didn't have to lug it at all every morning and evening when you are done for the day. Skis are pretty heavy and ski boots are cumbersome to walk in. And when u have a very tired and sleeping child, you don't want to have extra 'baggage' as you make your way back to the hotel. Very big and efficient set up for ski lessons.

Of the four resorts, Hanazono tends to keep snow quality best on days when the sun is out. However, it is small, only 3 lifts (though all relatively modern, with safety bars). Transfer over to Hirafu from Hanazono 2 is badly designed: you have to walk part of the way. Transfer from the top of Hanazono 3 is easy, but on very windy days, that lift may not run.

If you're a complete beginning, start at Niseko Village, as Hanazono has some pretty steep areas. As a novice rider, I think I enjoyed Niseko more because of the more straight, wider slopes.

Had a couple of days with no fresh snow, but the powder at Hanazono stayed a lot fresher than at Grand Hirafu. Niseko Village had gone completely to ice. Pain in the butt to get there by over crowded bus when the upper lifts weren't working, but the lift lines were almost queueless once there.

A run for all grades of skiers or riders. A great mountain with good facilities and lifts although the lines in the morning are lengthy.Freshies can be found off piste but now that the secret is out about Niseko they get tracked out quickly. Good mountain eating places provide a diverse range of food and drink at reasonable prices.

Many of the runs here lack the gradient required to have a good time. Be forewarned, you'll have to hold an edge for a while in some places. The terrain park is very poorly placed- at the end of a huge flat, thus you can't carry any speed into the jumps, which is a bummer. To make things worse, the groomers flatten everything out each morning, so even on a powder day the are no rollers. The other areas are much more fun, and that's probably why this is included as part of a Grand Hirafu ticket

We skied down to Hanazono a couple of times from Hirafu - the runs are nice and generally a bit quieter - and also booked a snowmobile trip for our last morning. That was a lot of fun! A bit slow to begin with (another couple were with us and it's all the speed of the slowest) but hinting that it would be fun to go faster meant that I was allowed to follow one of the guides separately on the way back. Couldn't believe how fast these machines are and soo much fun! Highly recommended!

Great resort for all of the family - our favourite resort in Niseko. There are runs for skiiers of all abilities. Love the hooded chair when it is cold! Very pleasant facilities at the 308 restaurant.

Had some pretty good runs here. the gates for strawberry fields and blueberrys have some pretty awesome tree skiing. also Gate 9 has some good steep terrain. Long wide roomed runs good for intermediate/ beginner riders. detachable hooded quad keeps you out of the weather. Lots of powder but it gets tracked out quick! so be fast

Of the four resorts, this was my favourite. As an intermediate skier it had long wide runs and you could even find powder. The bells are something you have to hear.

It's the first time my group of friends and I had a go at snowboarding and boy did we LOVED it! We went for a half day private lesson and we were so hooked on snowboarding that not only did we spent the remaining day snowboarding on our own, we even went back the 2nd day and spent a good 4-5 hours just up and down the slope! Our instructor Adam was very patient with us given that all 4 of us had zero snowboarding experience and I had a really bad experience skiing years back so there were a lot of times I needed extra attention just to make sure I was getting the techniques right.Adam's instructions were clear and easy to understand. He helped us to adjust our boards to make sure we were comfortable and safe at all times. We wanted to book another private lesson with him the following day but he already had other lessons lined up. The ski area was huge and we didn't had to worry about being run down by other users of the ski area because the place was so organized. We had lunch twice at the ski resort and had nothing but absolute praises as the standard of food was really good. Great to have some piping hot stuff after spending 2-3 hours out in the snow.

If you go to Niseko United and do not spend all your time exploring the backcountry gates you may well have wasted a wonderful opportunity. On a snowy, closed in day you can always explore gate 7, 8 and Strawberry and Blueberry fields

Great place to learn to ski and for a family ski. Resort is fairly small but connects to the larger niseko United fields. Good green runs for beginner and a couple of good intermediate to black runs
