The Tiny Corner Cafe was a blast! I was randomly invited by a student from Can Tho University and went to the Saturday night session. I ordered a delicious Virgin Mojito and stayed for two and a half hours talking to the people there. Everyone was SO welcoming, warm, outgoing, and interesting! The atmosphere was open and accepting, and I enjoyed exchanging stories about my life, friends, family, studies, etc. We also took the guitar down from the wall and had a hilarious, wonderful jam session, during which we sang everything from Celine Dion to One Direction to The Carpenters. I would recommend this to anyone and everyone traveling in Can Tho and looking to meet some amazing people. I hope to return some day! Thanks Tiny Corner!

I stumbled into this place after reading reviews on TripAdvisor and was warmly welcomed from the start, making friends within minutes and learning a lot about Vietnam from some of the brightest, most enthusiastic young people I've met on my travels. Win-win situation: you get to meet interesting people, they get to practise their English. I highly recommend you wander in here if you're passing through Can Tho.

I read some of the other reviews on TA and decided to go visit Tiny Corner Cafe. I absolutely loved it and had a great time talking to the students. They asked me a ton of questions about my country and culture and were more than willing to share about their lives and dreams. It is an excellent occasion to learn more about vietnamese life and have a deeper conversation. The students are very friendly and interested in talking to you. The idea of the cafe is to give the students a possibility to practice their english. If you are english speaking you should definitely go. It is not a regular cafe with food as it is in a language school. To find it you go up a small alley and then to the first floor. There is a sign by the street. There is a small fee to get in (20.000 vnd) for which you get an ice tea and hours of interesting talks to the students.

I visited Tiny Corner Cafe as the last stop on my food tour. It happened to be English Speaking Happy Hour that night. The place was packed with local college students eager to practice their English. We talked for a while, and when they put a guitar in my lap, we sang pop songs all night until the place closed. Their enthusiasm and energy made it one of my favorite experiences of my entire stay in Vietnam. The staff were friendly and helpful. I highly recommend the Tiny Corner Cafe for anyone looking to interact with locals while they're in Can Tho.

My wife and I came here with another tour and we were delighted to meet all these bright young people. If you came to Viet Nam to meet Vietnamese people..... then come here. This is theplace to get insights from the vietnamese culture as well as understand a bit more Vietnamese society. If you have questions they will know the answer. These people come here week after week to learn the English language for diverse reasons. You can have a full conversation with anybody here which is very refreshing from the normally very simple conversations we can have with people because of the language barrier. I highly recommend coming here (especially if you are very fluent in English) since you help them practice their English with native (or almost native) speakers of English and you share information from your respective nations.

A night that was a real experience for my trip. I turned up alone but felt immediately at ease. It was sooo interesting and ended up staying till 11pm! They even called me a cab for my trip back to the hotel. I really recommend doing this. A nice drink on arrival and some really interesting people all studying to speak better english. I am going again during my stay. It is a little difficult to find as the main street is Ly Tu Trong Street and this is in a lane. The lane number is 14 I think. Anyway there is a new park and road being built around the park in Ly Tu Trong. The lane is where the street joins back together at the top of the park.

Read about this place on TA. Went here the first day I was in Can Tho as I would have otherwise missed the English happy hour days during my stay. Spent nearly 4 hours and time just flew. The crowd was mainly young Vietnamese students coming here to hang out and interact with foreign travellers. It helps them practise their English. Most of them speak good English. It is a unique way to get to know more about the Vietnamese culture. I thoroughly enjoyed the time spent here and we had good fun too! Will surely come back if I visit Can Tho again. It's not very easy to locate this place. Look for the lit signboard on the 1st floor. It's on the small street "Hem 14" towards the start/end of street "De Tham" away from the river.

I recently moved to Can Tho and have been looking for ways to meet people, despite my lack of Vietnamese language skills. A friend told me about Tiny Corner and I went to their English Happy Hour. It's a lot of fun - the students are friendly and eager to practice English, and the volunteers are great. I've been several times now and definitely plan on going again soon. Everyone who speaks or is learning English should go - it's great!

Stumbled across this on Tripadvisor. It was a Thursday so thought we'd give it a go. It was a fun and easy way to actually meet local people that aren't geared towards the tourist trade. The locals that attended were aged between 15 and 35 and all had a staggering passion for speaking and practicing English. If you're in town when it's being held give it a go. It's unlike almost anything else there is to do that night.

I have enjoyed several evenings in Tiny Corner Cafe. Three times a week there is English speaking hour (Saturday, Monday, Thursday 7-10PM), where you can meet enthusiastic friendly people. Most are students or young graduates. If you are a good boy or girl, they might even invite you to hang out together. Don't hesitate - bring a visit. Highly recommended :-)

This is a long overdue review, but I finally remembered to give this place a shout-out. I have been to this spot about 3 times now and each time has been a great night. The staff is uber-friendly and the locals are no different. You can see the enthusiasm they have to practice their English with each other, but especially with a foreigner. Everyone is dedicated to improving their English, which is a great thing to see. If you are a foreigner looking for a good spot to speak English with the locals, this is definitely the best spot in town. Honestly, I would recommend hitting up this spot on one of your first nights and get some recommendations from these people! Toss out that Lonely Planet and see what the locals have in store for you! As for the locals, come here and practice your English! It is free and everyone is determined to improve their English here, so dont miss out!Love this spot! Will be coming back here soon once I am free!

I just stopped by randomly and enjoyed my time with vietnamese locals of all ages. It was a great atmosphere of good and interesting talks. We played games, shared travel experiences and practiced our english. I can recommend it to everyone who wants to get to know vietnamese people without a language barrier and have a good time. The English Happy Hour is every Saturday and on 2 days during the week. I think Mondays and Wednesdays. Check it out! Its worth it.

I suggest you read the other glowing reviews for the low-down. We can only add that this was one of the best experiences we had in Vietnam. Three hours went very quickly and our two teenagers had a lot of fun too. Such a worthwhile project - a fun, old-fashioned club atmosphere where the typical friendliness of the Vietnamese people is turned up to a new level. Do yourself a favour and go. Just wish we had gone on our first day, not our last in Can Tho - read the other reviews about this.HOW TO FIND IT - we had to hunt a little. It is not on the main street, but about 3 houses down a lane, directly across the road from Hem 1 (google maps lists it as the start of De Tham but you won't find a street sign that says De Tham, just a lane.) Look for the neon sign up high on the left. The Cafe is UPSTAIRS - walk in to the back of the ground floor and head up.By the way - the non-alcoholic cocktails they serve are very nice, and they do have beer.

The place is open just 3 days in a week. You will learn so much more from Vietnam when you visit this place. Its a place where local students can train english speech. The students are very friendly and youll make new friends. Recomend to go this place in first days on your visit. Many of these student may help you if you want to visit some atractions.
