This place is advertised as an art gallery. In reality, there is little art. Most of the items there are overpriced furniture and antiques. They were nice, but not what I was looking for….

We drove here and the gallery took some effort to find. The lady working there was lovely but it really was just a shop to purchase things and not very practical if you are flying. An old windmill is the studio/house next door which is nice but we were only here for 10 minutes.

This gallery is named for a local artist who used the old sugar mill as her painting studio. There are some pieces of her artwork here, but most artwork could be seen in Nisbet Plantation Inn.If you are looking for high quality souvenirs, this is where you can get them. There are some beautiful pieces of furniture here as well, located in the lower floors. In high season, there is a small cafe/snack bar that also runs. The proprieters of this store also run the gift shop at the Botanical Gardens, but this has more variety of offerings.

Given the history of the gallery, it was nice to see quality items being sold. Worth a look for Far Eastern art

By chance we went down the road to the gallery which was an old sugar mill and is now the centre point of a thriving business in home furniture and trinkets of all kinds along with plenty of paintings by the local artists and others, a very good way to spend an hour browsing through all the items and the gardens are slowly becoming an even more focal point by the Thai's that run the gallery.

The setting and architecture of this gallery add to it's beauty and interest. It has a wide range of well designed quality items, not the usual tourist stuff. There are Asian influenced pieces for the home, jewelry, lovely scarves, furniture and of course reproductions of Eva Wilkin;s work. Worth seeking out plus there are Boris and Angus the friendly dogs.

I loved this unique and beautiful shop in the gorgeous grounds of the converted sugar mill where Eva Wilkin painted. From artwork to stacking baskets and carved teak furniture, local hot sauce and regional books for adults and children, locals and tourists will love 'milling' around this lovely gem in Nevis.
