We chartered a 41 ft Jeanneau for about 2 weeks in February this year. The boat was well maintained and clean. The boat and chart briefing were thorough and organized. Everyone we came in contact with from SailCaribe was friendly, professional, and eager to help make our vacation a real success. I have chartered several times over the years with The Moorings and was always generally pleased with their service and therefore had some trepidation about using another charter operator. SailCaribe exceeded my expectations and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. The Spanish VI cruising grounds are beautiful and well worth visiting.

We chartered one of their Jeanneau 409 in late July - early August, 2014. We were really pleased with our experience with SailCaribe. Starting from booking, they were very quick in responding to our questions and accommodating requests. Communications and all business admin (charter agreement, payment confirmation, etc) was very fast. Staff was very friendly. When we arrived to the marina they helped us with our luggage. The boat briefing was very well organized. The boat itself was unmatched - new, clean, high-end quality - sailed amazing (with a 7 ft. draft it was very steady. SailCaribe was also quite helpful with contacting us and giving updates on weather conditions. Overall - I'd give them 10 out of 5! Really really great company. And Spanish Virgin Island are absolutely gorgeous! Having sailed all of US and BVIs - cayos and Culebrita are Caribbean jewels. Highly recommend!

This was my second time chartering with SailCaribe. The first was back in August 2011, and it is still the same professional and well-run operation that it was then. I and six of my friends chartered the Hunter 45 "GREAT WHITE" for a week of sailing around Culebra, Culebrita, and Palominos/Palominitos. SailCaribe was very helpful in arranging for ground transportation for our entire group from San Juan to a grocery store in Fajardo (Ralph's), where the driver waited for us to provision at no extra charge. We opted to all sleep on the boat for our first night in Puerto Rico so we could get an early start the next day (and save $ that would otherwise be spent on a hotel). SailCaribe offers this sleep-aboard option for about half the cost of a day's charter. This also gave us a chance to get settled and stow all our provisions before the briefing the next morning. SailCaribe is very good at providing personalized attention to their customers. Graham and Jim, the head of the company, provided a walk-through of the boat and a chart briefing that answered any questions we had, as well as providing valuable tips on moorings and anchorages around Culebra. Prior to our arrival, Karen was very helpful in providing tips on where to grab lunch in Old San Juan, and in arranging our ground transportation. Jim even quickly answered an emailed question about moorings that came up during the later days of the trip. The boat and its dinghy were in good condition, and all key systems and rigging functioned well. The Hunter 45 was very user friendly, and its chart plotter, in-mast roller furling mainsail, and auto pilot all felt a little like cheating. Despite stuffing seven people on board (including 3 couples), we never felt overcrowded, and the air-conditioning provided relief from the heat when we were poorly positioned to make use of the ever-present trade winds. We ran the generator more than I would have liked, around 3-4 hours a day, but was pleasantly surprised at the end of the week when our diesel bill came out to less than $60. Our return of the boat and debriefing was quick and hassle-free, and SailCaribe arranged for return ground transportation for our large group back to San Juan.On my last charter will SailCaribe, in which I took the risk of sailing in hurricane season, foul weather kept us from sailing for several days. On this second charter three years later, SailCaribe applied a credit to make up for lost time in our last charter. Moreover, during the weather delay on our previous trip, SailCaribe put us up in a local bed and breakfast at no extra charge. This is the kind of professional and personalized service that makes SailCaribe an easy choice for anyone looking to explore the Spanish Virgin Islands on their own schedule. I look forward to the third charter with SailCaribe.

Wonderful experience working with SailCaribe & the week on the water was even better. Debbie & Maria took care of business, requests, questions & our effortless transportation to & from the airport. Graham gave us a good orientation, chart review etc. & was very helpful when I called him from the boat with questions. The boat was clean, with everything in order. The cruising area was beautiful with Christmas winds supplying some spirited sailing. We had several nights where we were the only boat in beautiful anchorages but Dewey & Esperanza supplied some variety with a couple of restaurants visits and a very nice small grocer (apples, pears, avocado, meat, marinades & more) in Dewey. A couple of notes; mooring balls are not as plentiful as described in pre-trip reading & although I enjoy dropping an anchor I'm concerned about the health of the reefs. Sprint was useless unless near Dewey, Esperanza or mainland Puerto Rico.

My sister and I rented separate boats from Jim and Deb at Sail Caribe and the experience was again fantastic. Both Pam and Graham did a great job getting us ready for our trip around the SVI. The SVI itself was incredible. I would highly recommend Sail Caribe as a charter company as every bit of the experience was professional, personal and enjoyable.

4 friends and I recently charted one of the sailboats from the SailCaribe fleet and sailed around the Spanish Virgin Islands with stops in Cuelebra, Culebrita (a highly recommended stop), Vieques and Palomino Islands. The SailCaribe operation was very professional and accommodating, helping us arrange airport pickups and drop offs and food provisioning in town, very helpful as transportation around the Puerto Del Ray Marina was not very accessible by public transport. We booked a 45' Hunter, but when it turned out this boat was unavailable they gave us a free upgrade to a beautiful 49' Hunter, "Big Blue". The boat was in great shape and was the perfect home and transportation for us for our 8-day stay. We're fairly new to the sailing world but they did a quick checkout with us and a thorough overview of the ship and all it's systems to make sure we were comfortable. We did a review of out itinerary with the SailCaribe captain and they provided suggestions on where we should and shouldn't go and where the good mooring locations were.Overall, the entire crew and I could not have been more happy with the experience!

I recently rented a Hunter 33 sail boat for 5 days from SailCaribe Yacht Charter company to sail from Ceiba, Puerto Rico around in the Atlantic and Caribbean to Vieques, Culebra, and Culebrita Islands. The trip was totally perfect! Before leaving the dock, the very friendly and informative employees gave us a lesson is all the boat's particulars and helped load our things onto the boat. The Hunter 33 I rented was equipped perfectly with everything we needed. The linens and beds were squeaky clean and comfortable. We had a spectacular and trouble-free experience with our boat and SailCaribe Yacht Charter. I will definitely use this company again when renting a sail boat out of Puerto Rico.
