Just returned from Puerto Rico where I had the pleasure of playing the Trump International Course while they were getting the Tournament Course ready for the Open. Beautiful facilities and fantastic course make this one of the greatest courses on the island. Fantastic location with a layout that inicludes breathtaking views of the ocean and beach.

My husband and I attended a wedding at the Trump International Golf Club. The wedding party was late, so we went to the bar where golfers were drinking, eating and relaxing after their games. The staff was polite and attentive and their food looked extremely good. The ceremony took place outside of the main building facing the course and the reception was inside. The reception room was beautiful, the food was brought out quickly and efficiently, the staff was thorough in removing dirty dishes and glasses, and the bathroom facilities were kept extremely clean.

There are two courses on premise, International and Championship. Played 4 days in a row in the end of January. International, Championship, International, Championship. Overall, the courses are beautiful. It happened to have rained so much in the first two days, so was soaked in mud for the first two days- doesn't seem like they aerate the grass? Maybe because it's a nature wonderland so they are limited on how to drain the excess water? If there is forecast for rain, definitely bring 2 golf shoes, things don't dry that quickly here because it is so humid.The staff here is awesome, they had our golf bags locked and loaded in time for our tee time (they were stored at the course til departure). The greens fees were expensive for what it was- there is no gps on the carts and playing nine holes is the same price as 18 holes. Who does that?Championship course is a bit more expensive than the International. The organization of the holes and maintenance of grounds seemed to be a bit better. The International at some point seems like you are in the rainforest (didn't need to go to the nearby El Yunque) and the commute to some holes is quite long and sometimes confusing. The Championship is much better organized and easier to follow. Beverage carts are scant and it seems like they are always doing maintenance work on the courses while people are in play(?). Also, encountered many iguanas and the occasional stray dog. I don't think they belong to the course, but wonder why they don't have better animal control. They were small and lean, like they were strays and I was a little worried about if they would attack. There was one hole, where there were people hanging out in a boat in the pond and the huge maintenance tree branch removal cranes. They were all in the way of the green. We played through it though, just wonder why the people (looked like gringos) were hanging out in the pond when they could get hit by the ball and why there would be maintenance when the course is in play? Maybe because it's all good and lax in PR. If you have to pick between the two, definitely choose Championship, but bring your GPS watch or bushnell. I think you can download an app on your phone if you are in dire need for gps. Too much of a hassle for me though. If you are paying close to $200, the golf cart should have gps and not bunk axle issues or torn seat covers like the carts here. No washrooms on any holes, so the clubhouse is the only comfort station. Definitely take advantage of the 19th hole at the clubhouse, great food and like a refrigerator after your golf game.DEFINITELY take bug spray and anti-itch ointment with you. You get a lot of bug bites but don't realize it at the time, sneaky little suckers. Snacks and WATER is a definite must- you could easily get dehydrated. Snack options are very limited all around. Don't drink too much before you start because there is only a bathroom at the clubhouse and some holes are VERY far from the clubhouse.

My daughter and I played this course on our trip to PR for New Year. We got a deal from "Gustazo" (the local groupon) for a round of golf. So the price we paid was good.The course was ok. Nothing to hype about, specially when our comparison point was El Conquistador course (we played it the day before, outstanding). The grounds are kept nice.Our problem was the attitude of the local golfers! 4-some in front of us, super loud, refusing to let a 2-some pass, taking forever to look for lost balls, etc. it took us close to 5 hours to play this course thanks to the locals. What an attitude!Also, the pro shop has barely any merchandise. As momentos, we usually get a ball from all the courses we play. Well, not from the Trump, as they don't sell balls with logos!!!!

Mr. Trump must have bought this on the cheap waiting for a comeback. It's nice but noting special. I was $300 into it after renting clubs. I get resort prices but I wonder why on New Years day I had the course all to myself? Lower the price!

The course was in good condition, the greens a bit ragged and slow. I played on Xmas day and it was empty which was great.

no complain, perfect fairways, greens and location overall. A bit expensive but normal for such a golf course.

good layout with fair opportunities to score, or easy opportunities to fail. difficult for the grounds crew to maintain at a high level with the tropical rain, but kudos for the effort

On this trip to Puerto Rico I was able to play both courses at Trump International. My expectations were at an all time high....though I enjoyed myself and had a good time, it fell short of what I had in mind. The courses where not in pristine shape, service was lacking, pro shop was not fully stocked (and what was there is so expensive you would have to be Donald Trump to afford it). The best part of the golf was the front nine of the international course. It is laid out through the upper hills of the mountain side. The other 3 nines are much like any other course you can play just about anywhere. To be fair, they do have one hole that the green is out by the ocean. You are there for a brief moment to put and then it's over. I did get to play at a discounted rate, but would NEVER pay the prime dollar these courses normally command.

Two courses. The course which ran more along the ocean was still closed from the previous days rain. The open course was cart path only. Practically no one was playing on Thanksgiving day.The greens fees plus carts plus club rentals for 3 was over $600 and it wasn't that caliber of a course. Nice but not THAT nice.The rentals were sad...bring your own clubs if you really want to play... and the only balls to buy were ProV1's at $15 per sleeve. We did make it through the round with one sleeve each though, plus a few of the better quality range balls. No reason for us to go back even as it dried out more later in the week.

I liked the rangemaster. When it poured down rain he darted (in his truck) into the bamboo for shelter and motioned for me to follow him!

I've golfed a lot of Trump locations - and they are usually outstanding. But this one has some issues. Now, it had rained the day before and I was told the course was wet. But this was the first time I ever had to take shots with water over my toes! And more than once! There were some good views, and some holes were challenging. Nice views of the mountains and a few of the ocean. Overall pretty good, but for the nearly $200/person it cost I was left seriously wanting. If you want great golf try to get onto the Baha'i Beech club next door at the St. Regis. It is a spectacular course, better laid out, and much more beautiful for the same rate.

2 courses. Neither inspiring. Ordinary layout. Ordinary routing. Does not compare to the really good Caribbean courses Like Casa De Campo, Dye Fore, The Green Monkey, The One and Only. Punta Cana regular courses in the Dominican Republic put these course to shame. Service is mediocre as well. Way over-priced for what you get.

Everyone has a favorate course in Puerto Rico. Which is yours? I play here with friends and feel that is the best course for my type of game play.

I played the Trump International course in PR in Aug '14. The course was in very good shape and was reasonably priced. I got the first tee time and was done in under two hours. I recommend playing there if you are down that way. Only problem was that the cart girl that was there that day seemed a little nasty. She didnt seem at all interested in doing her job and seeing that there was no other food available at the time, it kind of soured the experience.
