Our family took a cruise to bermuda in late August, and we decided to do some horseback riding. It was my husband, 14 y/o daughter and myself. We took the local bus from the cruise ship to the riding center. The bus driver was kind enough to let us know when to get off. Once there we signed a waiver, and were fitted with helmets. After that you are seated on a horse and giving a lesson of basic commands to control your horse. Once everyone was ready, the tour guide began the tour. Be sure to give your camera to the guide...they will take a lot of pictures of you on the horse. Also wear long pants, because you will be going through some tight spaces with tree branches and brush. The trail took us through some back streets of bermuda, and ended up on the beach. It was beautiful! None of us are experienced riders, and we all managed to keep up with the group, and control the horses. The tour guides were awesome, and gave us some bermuda history along the way. Highly, highly recommended!

Hello Rachael,I was so sorry to read you did not enjoy the Trail Ride.The access to the water is seasonal and we usually are permitted on the beach early in the morning although the law prohibits horses & dogs after 8.30am. Sadly this year a swimmer complained and we were not allowed in the water. However we do ride on the sand but not in the water.I am a little confused about your comment regarding the breakfast as so many people have been pleasantly surprised by the breakfast spread which is so much more than most imagine for a continental breakfast. Fruit, pastries, johnny bread, locally made jam, juices, & tea and coffee selections. Whilst it is served in the camp lounge we provide a lovely seating area outside, where our guests can relax until they are ready to continue their day. The staff are on hand but it is our policy to provide you with your privacy to enjoy your breakfast, we do check in & make sure everything is ok with your breakfast but we have never thought of including the guides in the breakfast time. Thank you for taking time to share your review, we sincerely appreciate your feed back & will strive to ensure that other visitors know in advance of the water policy and that the breakfast seating is made clear to all.As your sister is an experienced rider she would have a better ride on a Private ride which is geared to the more experienced riders where the options to trott & canter are possible.We sincerely hope you will join us on another ride one day.

My husband and I booked the trail ride with Spicelands as an excursion through our cruise ship. This stable did not disappoint! The stables and horses are immaculate. Our guide Brendan was knowledgeable and fun. The trails were very nice and the horses were very well trained! I would highly recommend this stable and trail ride to anyone interested in seeing part of Bermuda this way!

I had a most wonderful time hoseback riding at Spicelands. Terry was my guide and she was amazing. Her control and knowledge of the horses made all feel comfortable.We took a very scenic trail to the beach. We rode along the beautiful beaches. It was just breathtaking being on a horse on the beach. The horses were well behaved. Following the guides instructions is very important. This was money well spent.
