While on a cruise stop, nine in our family took a taxi to the Buccaneer to play golf. What a beautiful place it is. The only negative is that it is a "cart path only" course due to the limited amount of rain the island gets. With the shallow root system, the grass couldn't take constant cart traffic. As a result of this restriction, however, the course was in very good condition. There are many hills but they provided sweeping vistas so were worth the climb. The people were friendly, helpful and made for a great experience. We had time after golf for lunch at the resort. Beautiful setting and great food capped a wonderful day.

What could be more Fun than to enjoy a round of golf with the great weather and beautiful scenery even if a little liquid sunshine does happen to fall.

I have a home in St. Croix; therefore, I've never stayed at the hotel. I have eaten at both the main restaurant and The Mermaid restaurant. Wonderful food, drinks and desert. You can not go wrong with any meal you order. Beautiful and historic grounds. No dislikes.

Loved this course. It has vistas like Cypress Point in certain places. It is a bit hilly, but carts are offered, only for path usage. The staff is friendly and we never felt pushed. We really enjoyed our day.

We had a great time. Course was in good shape. Very picturesque holes. The clubhouse staff were friendly and provided good tips for us mainlanders.

I didn't play but the course looks great and challenging. Maybe next time i will bring clubs. It was never crowded for the 7 days i was there. You could definitely play 18 without a wait.

Wonderful place to play a few rounds and have some delicious food afterwards, the drinks were great as well. We went during lunch and the prices were great, another good location to use your military ID or AARP card for discounts.

It is quite beautifull course but greenkeepers could do their work better. There is huge potential in Buccaneers resort, but generally it needs some investments to bring it back to the old glory...

I already posted this in the hotel review, but will post it again here.I only have one, well 2 complaints actually. But let me start our by saying that the Golf Course is beautiful. In fact it is one of my all time favorites having played on vacation in Ireland, Hawaii and Bermuda. Golf was the main reason we picked St. Croix and the Buccaneer and we were not disappointed. Ocean views are had from almost every hole. While Hole #3 gets a lot of attention, my favorite was #15. From the vantage at the pin, you have a 365 degree panoramic view of the property and beyond. Even if you don’t play golf, I recommend walking on the fitness trail and checking out view from the green at 15. The only negative I have about golf is the lack of pull carts. The golf pro, Tim, while a great guy, he seems to be a bit pig headed when it comes to this subject. Walking is not a great option, due to a back issue, however, walking with a pull cart would have been ideal. The issue with the cart is that it is Cart Path rules only, in my opinion, it takes longer to play when this rule is in effect and you end up walking further than if you actually walked. I can’t imagine that pull carts are that expensive to have on hand if requested. I understand that courses make money on the golf carts but we for one would have been willing to pay the same for a golf cart or pull cart. BTW, most of the locals walked the course. They however did not carry, most had their own pull carts. I would love to see Tim soften his stance before we visit again! He told us that he rarely if ever gets requests for pull carts, but we probably talked to a handful of folks that felt the same way as we did. The other issue I had is the amount of stubborn, big Iguanas on the course – particularly on the green at 8 and the women’s tee on 9. They simply will not move and it was a bit scary for me. I don’t think there is much to do about that, after all it is their home, but just be prepared to have an Iguana stand off if you play there!

What a beautiful golf course! It overlooks the gorgeous ocean and beach. Very, very relaxing as you play. This golfcourse and hotel are one of St.Croix's landmarks. Charming and cozy at the same time. Wonderful staff. But classy is truly the word.

I birdied 3 holes, including the most pictureque hole, number A few too many holes with greens sitting on top of a hill, but the greens putted true.

If you are traveling to St Croix, The Buccaneer Golf Course is definitely worth a visit. The course is a bit short and the rough is moderate, which makes putting up a decent score possible. However, there are dramatic elevation changes and strong winds coming off the ocean that make this course quite challenging too. I changed my mind about 6 times while selecting a club for my hole three tee shot. The greens were nicely manicured. I had some trouble judging the speed all day, but I think that was a personal problem. My wife rode along with me in the cart but did not play. She loved the views and all of the huge iguanas that walk around the course. The staff at the pro shop were very friendly and personable. They gave us advice about other things to do on the island. If I return to St. Croix in the future I will definitely return to play another round.

Beautiful views, good price. Friendly and helpful staff. Would play here again. We rented clubs from them to play.
