After the long weekend in September this is a great place to hang out for peace and quite. They have a great beach and it is the best place to watch the migrating birds going south.

We are avid birders so always visit Holiday Beach for the annual migration and banding of the hawks. It is a great chance to see these magnificent birds up close, to photograph them, and learn more about their habits from very knowledgable volunteers. We have taken the odd picnic lunch with us to eat on the beach, but we really enjoy the birds more, so don't do it often. The admission to the park is reasonable, but if you are counting on swimming it may not be too feasible. It looks nice but the beach is often closed due to e coli counts- just depends if it is windy and rainy or not. Check before you go if that is your aim.

We were taking our last bike ride in the area and followed our friend through the woods and found this place. Looks like they are working on a beach house and the beach. It has a campground and if you bike farther a trail to the Hawk viewing tower. It was sunset and the view was beautiful.
