Found this place while on our way somewhere else, and looked cute from the outside, so stopped in and was pleasantly surprised with delicious warm apple cider and fresh baked donuts! Have made special trips back every fall for donuts and cider and to pick up a pumpkin!

It is like taking a step back in time when visiting Tyrone Mill. You can sample and purchase home-made preserves and apple cider donuts to die for. You can also get Empire Cheese which is the best (from Campbellford, ON). If you are a baker, there are a variety of flours that are ground at the Mill to choose from.

What a great place to visit. Anyone that likes to combine a Sunday drive with a history lesson needs to visit this sight. The treat selection isn't bad either. One of the last working mill sites that represents the economic backbone of small town Ontario.

You get a real sense of history at this operating mill, especially if you take the time to visit the second floor woodworking shop. The big attraction today is the fresh foods and cider on season and ground on premises grains and flours. Lots of preservers, fresh baked goods .(don't miss the fresh donuts) and lots of local preserves and sauces. Well worth the visit during a country drive, especially if you like winding country roads and a nice cream treat. If you are into vintage style lumber, check out their milling services. Just the thing for renovating a period dwelling or adding a rustic touch to your business or dwelling. This also operates as a community center for the locals so ask about their skinny dipping history back in the 60s. Lol!

I have been visiting the Tyrone Mill for years and they never disappoint! The Tyrone Mill has delicious baked goods! All freshly baked and will melt in your mouth.

Beautiful old wood mill, with awesome, made-on-site donuts, fresh and hot, and they do melt in your mouth. Top that with their hot apple cider...YUM! Take the time to explore the mill while you're there. Interesting period tools and equipment on display upstairs.

The Mill really does have the best donuts around. After having donuts here every other place disappoints. The very best time to buy them there is on a Sunday afternoon. People stream in on their way home from the cottage so the donuts are always fresh and just melt in your mouth. The Mill also sells maple syrup, jam, tarts and other baked goods. All of it are good but it's the donuts that really stand out and should be the reason why you go there and keep going back.

This place is very lovely to see the old apple mill still. Worked last time I was there but I've been told it doesn't run. Anything homemade such as jams and pastries you will find here

Visited for the first time and was really impressed with the old world practises. Spoke with the owner for a few minutes who was friendly and very knowledgable. I bought several types of organic flours, some local honey and a dozen doughnuts. I can't say enough about how good those doughnuts are. I haven't tasted treats this good since my great grandmother made me doughnuts when I was 6. I ate five on the way home. We will definately going back on a weekly basis I hope! I would recommend this for a bit of history and a lot of yumminess

Cute little mill! Buy some fresh baked bread from the wood fired oven outside, or nibble on a fresh donut, made in house. Amazing array of flours and baking options if you are inclined to make your own at home. Purchase some hand made pot scrubbers which are way better than sponges or cloths for doing dishes.

As many have already said, the in store donuts and other baked goods are simply delicious. Problem is - you can't just eat one. Their ice cream is also a great treat on a warm day. the mill itself and the back pond is a neat place to visit and catch up on some local history. If you're already in the area, it's a worthwhile place to visit.

It's worth the trip to Tyrone. The donuts are being fried before your eyes, yummy, soo fresh it beats Tim's frozen stuff. You can buy various things maple syrup, preserves, fresh bread, ice cream, cheeses and a whole lot more.
