I had not visited this location for more than 5 years and was surprised with how nice the renovations were. Very easy to get to and all the staff were professional and friendly. The slots were tight, but not overly, and I had the chance to play for several hours before my `allowance` ran out. I would certainly recommend this casino and I will look forward to my next trip.

Just back from a Friday night ALFIO concert at Georgian Downs; what an excellent venue for a live show. It's a small intimate room where you sit right close to the stage. ALFIO's AWESOME!Georgian Downs is one of our go-to places, we've enjoyed the buffet in the past and spent a bit of time watching the ponies run, but alas neither happen to much anymore. We spend most of our time on the OLG side and always enjoy their Getaway Restaurant, especially Friday night when it's the Fish and Chip special with some live music playing. If visiting Barrie, drop into the Innisfil Georgian Downs and OLG Slots, it's always a good night out and there are plenty of complimentary vouchers, meals and free tickets available for the asking.

The food at the governors dining room had got to be the worst good I have ever eaten. It was the cheapest buffet I have ever seen. The dessert was even worse! The "beef" station was the sadest thing I've ever seen. It was like shoe leather! I would not recommend eating there unless it was free! Not worth $0.10 go elsewhere if you want decent food for your money!!!

How can food taste so bad? A $25 buffet and the care nothing for the taste, presentation or even how professional the staff looks? Cold food, soggy food, hard as rock chops, sausage in everything,.... where was my Ceaser salad? It was supposed to be Italian night.... how about some garlic bread or fresh bread or any other leafy kinds of salads? I think one was a potato salad (not sure how Italian that was), I went on line for the menu beforehand and it seemed so good......so where was this "so called" food? The Roast beef, (the guy needed a chain saw to cut it) could have had some dark gravy to go with it and some mashed potatoes. Or some veggies,..something to make one normal plate of food. The restaurant should be absolutely ashamed of itself with near inedible food. And, the staff, .. they may have cleared a couple of plates from the 20 or thirty dirty plates our table produced.... we took our own dirty plates to other dirty tables. Barely came by for drink orders and couldn't run a register if their lives depended on it.ps,..watch for them charging $2:50 for a program per person ,..why would you pay for something you don't use if your there only for a buffet meal not to wager? Mmmm,...why did I pay for that meal then if I really didn't get that either?

At the restaurant in the Casino the service is very inconsistent. We have had horrid service a couple of times! We tend not to dine there anymore. The food is better before 8:00pm, over cooked, dry and reheated later. Even the food at the snack bar looks tired and the staff are very unpleasant.

We treated our son and girlfriend to a night at the races. I was very very disappointed in the buffet dinner. I had told them to expect a good meal (based on my last visit several years ago) with a chocolate fountain for dessert, and we all left very disappointed with their experience. It is extremely over priced for the quality and lack of choice for a $25 buffet. What happened to the chocolate fountain? Dessert was very sad! I would not recommend this buffet to anyone. The only reason for 2 stars was for the experience of the races, which was enjoyable.

We went there during the day. The casino is small but has almost everything what the bigger casinos have. We had a lunch at the only open restaurant. They had a $10 combo menu what was not bad. We could chose among different combos. We chose fish and fries. It came with a pop and desert. We liked it.

race track was good ,food at buffet was disgusting ,cold and does not compare to what was there before .We probably will not go back .You would think if they were trying to start up again they would make an effort to draw people back with good food

Seven of us dined at the restaurant (Italian buffet) during the racing on July 12. The meal was horrid. It featured very, very, very rare roast beef, a skimpy salad bar, chicken and fish which tasted the same, and almost no vegetables. The desserts were some fruit and squares - from M & M - that were literally dumped onto a tray. The serving area was dirty and the servers could not have been less interested in customer service. It was a disgrace! This used to be a great spot to eat with great selection and some pride taken. I know the racing industry is hurting, but we paid for a dinner and expected better.

Went to Georgian Downs for what would have been a wonderful evening with a small group of friends, but unfortunately the night was ruined by terrible food. For the price ($24.95) of the Italian buffet the food was disgusting... Uncooked cold roast beef, cold vegetables, pasta that was soggy and tasteless. The roasted squash that was disgusting... A very limited selection especially the dessert selection( soggy squares of some sort and watermelon! C'mon!!!!) We will never return for a meal and my wife and I are embarrassed to have recommended going to the establishment for dinner!!!

For something different, try a night out at the track at Georgian Downs. Great atmosphere with an adjacent casino. It is fun watching the ponies and the food is pretty good as well. A great pit stop coming back from the cottage on the weekend.

The house always wins, gotta remember that. Friday nite fish and chip specials for $7.99 are actually quite good. usually costs you more than that in the end, but as long as its entertainment its alrightthis place does not comp as well as Casino Rama, plus any bonus cash u win by using your card is a long drawn out process to get it, first check with rewards circle person to see if theres any money ther, next she gives you a ticket with the money on it, next line up in another line at the cashier so she can give you the money, then put it in the machine for losing, at rama u can get the bonus points put right on the machine you are playing, someone should tell georgian downs that the year 1999 has passed, to update their technologyas far as winning here goes, i just dont do it very often, most ive won is 400$ then 300$ mostly they widdle down my money slowly to nothing, i usually play 2cent or 5cent machines, i do see lottsa people winning, but never me, perhaps they have people 'fake' winning who are employees working there just to jazz people up into playing more, why wouldnt they travel casino to casino, play specific machines which are loose, then make a scene people spend more money

I love the ponies, it makes me sad that harness racing is dying in Ontario due to what I feel to be poor choices by OLG. But other than that, good night out, great fun! The casino has a good variety of games, but can be quite busy at times and hard to get a machine. I would recommend going later at night ( after 9) the machines seem to pay out more often then and there are less people.

Georgian Downs is a smallish horsetrack as well as a gaming casino with only slots. The variety of slot games is quite good and is a good place to drop in to when travelling to/from our cottage up north..

I went here for a Christmas party a few years ago. You get a good view of the racetrack whether on the ground floor or in one of the upper level event rooms. We had an excellent buffet meal provided and lots of opportunities for betting on races. There's also a casino on the grounds (didn't visit so can't comment). Overall a memorable experience.
