This is like 2 different golf courses when you leave the front 9 to play the back 9. The back 9 is very hilly, some with blind T shots. The greens are quite fast & a number of them have slopes that make putting very challenging. There are 4 sets of Ts so there is something for everybody. I've played it a number of times over the years & will be back for more. Quite often they have specials so visit their website if you plan on going there. They are also on Golf Now.

My wife and I played Black Diamond Golf Course today. Beautiful links style course. The back 9 was extremely slow and a marshal finally appeared after the 15th and told us that this was not unusual (even on a weekday) as rather than join groups up, they frequently send out a large number of twosomes - they have had complaints before. The main issue I have with the course conditioning is the greens. The putting surface is so fast that it is unplayable when you are above the hole. If you can put a ball down above the hole and have it roll off the green without hitting it, you've got a problem. Also only one washroom (2nd hole) on the course.

My husband and I played a round of golf at Black Diamond just the other day and we were really impressed. The course is well taken care of and challenging too. We really enjoyed it. I thought I was doing well until we hit the back nine which is completely different from the front nine. The course drops off into a valley and winds up and down through really scenic holes. Just a beautiful course. The greens were fast and challenging as well. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Even the couple we were paired with were great company too. There are lots of friendly marshals out on the course keeping an eye on the pace of play and a cart came by regularly to make sure we had drinks if needed. There is an intercom at the 9th tee where you can place an order for food and drinks so they'll be ready for you at the clubhouse when you're finished the front nine. Very handy for keeping everybody on time. The pro shop had lots of golf wear and equipment for sale as well. We didn't stop in at the clubhouse for a meal or drink afterwards but there is a bar/restaurant with an outdoor patio at Black Diamond. There was only one thing lacking..... washroom facilities on the course while you're playing. I've noticed on a lot of the newer golf courses that they think of the ladies now and have a nice little washroom cabin here and there. Judging by the women I know, this is an important feature these days. Luckily we didn't have to make any runs back to the clubhouse but Black Diamond would make more money on the beverages if there were more facilities and I'm not talking just about the women. At any rate, we had a great time. The course was busy but we finished just a bit over 4 1/2 hours without having to play "hurry up and wait". We'll be back for sure!
