This is a must stop when doing the wine trail/tour. The service was excellent. The lady that waited on us really took her time to tell us about the process and walk us through the tasting. They honey wine is amazing and something different. She also gave me a little jar of honey since it was my birthday and it was so good Im not ashamed to say I ended up eating it in the car before we left. Really great experience.

Our wine club had an outstanding tour and tasting last Saturday. Sonya, our host was perhaps the best host we have ever had for a tour. She was extremely energetic and knowledgeable. The wines sampled were excellent, including the mead wine, cab franc and merlot. Well done, Rosewood. Mark - Wentworth West Zymologists

We visited Rosewood with another couple. It was everyone's first time here. Sampled serveral wines and purchased a couple. At Rosewood they make their wine by fermenting honey and water. Just the perfect amount of sweetness. Staff were friendly. Our friends were given a free bottle of honey to congratulate them on their recent wedding. Apparently there is an old legend about grooms sweeping wives away for a month (1 moon) while drinking mead (water and honey mixture) during this time away. Something about all of this is where the term honeymoon was derived from. Really interesting story.

Decided to venture out and visit some of the wineries we've driven past over the years. Truly amazing how many are in the Twenty Valley and Niagara regions. But, we had never done it before. We were very fortunate to stop in at Rosewood first because, I believe it was Janice, took the time to walk us through everything we needed to know when tasting wines. She was fantastic! We just stopped in for a tasting but spend a fair amount of time there. We are both red wine drinkers traditionally but followed instruction and ran our way through the wines, starting with white, to reds, and also into mead (don`t see that too often!). Glad we did. What caught both of us was the Mima`s Block Riesling. It was very tasty and full bodied. None of the reds caught our attention, but this one white did. So... we bought it. Thinkin`I`ll open that tonight!Small, friendly little winery. Definitely worth the visit. Tastings are $5 for three, but because we made a purchase, that was waived.

Good but lighter reds. Nice staff but small tasting room. Nice to have something different with the honey blended wines. Excellent " trois femmes" rose!

The host we had during our visit was an absolute delight. She certainly did know her stuff. We razzed her and joked around and drank some wine and bought some wine. Altogether, it was a pleasant visit. We will return.

Husband is into drinking mead so I thought this place will interest him. A very big and beautiful winery in the heart of Beamsville. I enjoyed taking photos of the landscape here. We didn't get to do the tour and we're told we have to book which was a bummer. I was hoping we will get a tour on how mead was made, which was they main reason of the entire trip. We did get to do the tasting and bought a bottle of mead. I myself prefer Riesling, but the Sussreserve didn't really do it for me. But will definitely be back and do some Christmas shopping there. They do have some Honey products that interest me.

Hi Shane, I'm so sorry to hear about this. Unfortunately things come up, but that should never take the attention away from a customer. I know an experience such as this may dissuade you from coming back, but if you find yourself in the area again, I do hope you decide to stop in.

A small winery with honey accents in all their wines. They have a lovely selection of Mead. Tastings cost even if you purchase which is my only criticism.

They originally started as an apiary and sold honey, mead, and other related products. They ventured into wine making and have a beautiful spot. Their wines, however, are a tad forgettable and not as "award-winning" as the server had touted. Obviously, only my opinion and it was also the tail end of a day of wine-tasting so I gave them the benefit of the doubt and bought a bottle of their "award-winning" Lock, stock and barrel (or something like that). It's way too early to drink but perhaps I'll make my final observation then. The staff person we had took offence that we didn't gush over the wine, which kind of spoiled the experience but she tried to be helpful.

Rosewood came highly recommended to us and they did not disappoint. Like almost all the winery estates here, this place is just as big and beautiful as any of the others. I am all for: Family-owned wineries, uniques wines, and local goods! We left with a Pinot noir (the one they had was SO Smooth), 2 honey wines and 2 jars of honey (they are a 3-generation bee-keeping family)...Drool! I understand wine is so subjective, but this first stop on our winery weekend happened to be our favorite. We can't wait to come back!

Rosewood has a great selection of wines and a large, bright, welcoming tasting room. Wonderful selection of honey, beeswax candles, etc. Wines are FABULOUS. Have been a member of this wine club for years! You can sample as much as you want and the staff are very keen to provide their wine wisdom.

Rosewood is a fine winery, located on a road with some of the best wineries in Ontario. The Süssreserve Riesling is scrumptious. There are a couple of others that have won medals in international competitions that are also worth tasting. The service here is excellent. Rosewood also produces its own honey and honey based mead. They also sell beeswax candles.Like most wineries in the area, Rosewood staff will happily provide you with a map and point out some of their friends and favorites. While the entire region is great, Beamsville seems to outperform other neighboring micro-regions.For those from outside Ontario, the government here controls wine sales. The wineries cannot discount wines at the wineries, and you may find some of the same wines at the LCBO. If it is not obvious (and you care), ask your server at the winery which of their award winners are only available at the winery. You may find something quite unique for a good value.

So we had a little extra time and my friend we were traveling with found Rosewood because they make Mead ( which is of particular interest to her) so we stopped to check it out. The mead was so very interesting, not really my thing but there red wine was exquisite. The staff was so great- they shared so much experience and passion about the mead, the winery and the team that built the wine we tasted. We continued for the weekend through the Niagara region, tasting and visiting wineries only to look back at Rosewood as one of out favourites ( and it wasn't even on out list.)!
