Awesome place to spend the day outside. Pack a picnic and enjoy some on the most beautiful and private spots along the water. Careful of lower hiking trails in the spring. They can be more or a swamp land than a walking trail. And don't wander off track in summer months lots of poison ivy covering forest floor.Great for sort walks or long hikes, this is one of my favourite places to go in Lanark County!

Off the back roads near Almonte the mill formerly the home of a famous doctor is now an excellent small museum. We left our car at the entrance and walked by the river walk through the wood to the mill; delightful on a hot afternoon. A contribution to the upkeep of the mill and the extensive grounds is appreciated.

Went to a friends wedding here in July. It was a fairly small wedding group, about 40 people or less. Gorgeous ourdoor location with a perfect area for the ceremony. Unfortunatley we didn't get a chance to explore any of the trails, but we were a bit overdressed for that. The Ceremony was well decorated and had plenty of space for for more guests. The only gripe would be that it was hard to hear the bride and groom during the vows, but that tends to happen in outdoor weddings. Simple refreshments afterwards in the covered gazebo were nice. It was a hot day so the bottled water was welcomed. The food was fruit, veg and other simple things. Nothing fancy but it fit our style and tasted good. Seemed fresh and held up well on a hot day. It got a bit buggy while we were all milling around in the gazebo but again, that's to be expected with outdoor weddings. It turned out to be a great day so I'm not sure if there was a contingency plan in case it had rained so I can't speak to that but based on looks alone, on a beautiful day, I'd definitley consider it a great outdoor wedding venue.

For those in Carleton Place or Almonte - a fantastic spot to walk the dog. Easy 1 hr trails through the woods in a beautiful setting. The mill itself is stunning and I think they do summer afternoon teas on the lawn.
