If you love to hike and do enjoy nature. This is the place. Do bring boots or good hiking gear as the trails are at time rather muddy. Not a problem if you came prepared. Solitaire trail is amazing. Great to enjoy the fall colours and the caves. By the way a great winter trail as well one the ice melts the caves transform into amazing frozen sculptures. A must see. Not for beginner hikers at all.if you would like a little walk enjoy the Clear and Turtle lake trail.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Limberlost Trails when we stayed at Walker Lake and plan on returning to the area, perhaps to rent a cottage. Very peaceful and serene.

We went for the first time to Limberlost and plan to return in the fall. We took part of Solitaire Lake trail and found it an easy walk by the lake and woods, past a few cottages at first. We didn't go as far as the lookout which apparently is a steep climb. Love that this is a nature reserve.

Limberlost Reserve is only about an hour drive from Huntsville so easier to get to than Algonquin park if you have limited time. There are many trails and you can pick up maps at the entrance. We did a 3 hour ramble around Buck lake, one of the many lakes here. The scenery was great and the walk took in a massive beaver dam, Osprey island, small waterfalls and many other sights of interest. A great morning out giving us a suitable appetite for a Canadian brunch on our way back to town. I am looking forward to returning and following different trails. Buy the paperback 'Limberlost Trails' at the entrance. It is only $5.00 and is packed with information and the history of the area as well as trail maps.
