Went on an amazing Kayak trip that generated from Long Point it is a beautiful area and well worth the visit.

Great birding,fishing, beach area.Tundra swans,Sandhill cranes plus numerous other wild bird migrating during spring and fall.Old Cut banding station is a wonderful place to visit.

My grandparents used to own a cottage on Long Point, which my parents would take me and my brothers to visit at least once every summer. As an adult I can appreciate just how lucky we were to spend so much time here. The beaches stretch across a huge shoreline with plenty of sand and dunes to enjoy. There's lots of shallow nearshore water for wadding and several sandbars you can swim out to. Sharp rocks and weeds are also kept to a minimum. We also enjoyed flying kites which the wind off Lake Erie was perfect for. There's also lots of nearby places to fish or hike through nature. Many birds use Long Point as a rest stop during migrations giving you a chance to see many different species throughout the year.

My husband's family cottage lies beachfront at Long Point. We are very fortunate to have this yearly wonderful destination for us. Most summers the beach is quiet and private during the week. On weekends the provincial parks fill up and people watching becomes the sport. The kids love the water and hanging out at the beach. Once in awhile I like to take the bikes out and ride through the park areas. Tons to see and enjoy. It's a photographers Mecca with so many marshlands, wildlife, waterways, miles of soft sand and beautiful sunsets. Lots of adventures for the kids to explore and be educated about while you are here including a canoe trip through the UN biosphere area, observations of migratory paths and turtles turtles turtles. If your a Kiter this is the place to fly your beautiful colours. So many flock at the shores of Long Point it's another sceptical itself. Speed and height can get pretty spectacular with the winds, not recommended for the weak at heart. If you prefer calmer waters and less wind you will find that too at Long Point and enjoy paddle boarding or canoeing soaking up the views.When my life is crazy busy I just have to close my eyes and think about getting to the cottage in the summer to chill. Sadly I simply just don't get there enough.

An excellent camground set amongst the dunes of Long Point, Ontario. The facilities are of a high standard and include free showers and a laundry. There are miles of sandy beach, so it's easy to find a quiet spot. There are also plenty of opportunties for seeing wildlife, particularly seabirds and birds of prey. We stayed in a 28ft Rv and the pitch was generous with just enough privacy. Well worth considering if you are in the area.

This is the second year that we chose to camp at Long Point Provincial Park. Since the beach is so clean and the sand soft, it's an ideal spot for our young children to play and have fun. Both years we booked ahead and got a nice spot near the beach for easy access. Whether you are staying in a tent or using a trailer, the spots are spacious and private. As long as our children are small, this will be the type of camping we'll enjoy. Later, camping in northern Ontario will be where we're headed. We visited on a sunny Sunday in early July, so not surprisingly the park was very busy. Beautiful beaches, however, and crystal clear water. Very family orientated, and also a haven for watersports lovers, so as an unfit middle-aged couple, we only stayed a short while! (We also had a long journey to make that day.

Great place to go with friends or family! Long Point Beach is massive, the waters are warm and the scenery is second to none! Best beach in southern ontario. Lots of free parking, places to eat nearby. We stopped at Stubs Grub which was right at the beach access point. Highly recommend beach for anyone looking for a quiet, surreal and pristine beach experience! There so much beach there you feel like you basically have it all to yourself!

Hang out at Long Point Beach to experience the miles of clean sandy beach and shallow waters. Put your boat in at any of the marinas along the causeway to experience the inner bay calm. Take a quick boat ride from the inner bay to the sand bar, but be careful if it is your first time! The water can get shallow quite quick............it's an awesome adventure!

Long Point has an awesome beach that seems to go on and on forever. The sand is beautiful and soft, the water is shallow and warm, and the sunsets are beautiful!!

Been here before and will come back. Clean site,new washrooms .gorgeous beach,and Lake Erie access. Plenty of room for our 30 foot trailer on the grass sites. Staff is very friendly. Can rent life jackets and fishing rods if you forgot yours.

A friend had given me rave reviews about camping at Long Point so we were really excited to check it out. Unfortunately, the whole experience was highly disappointing. We were tent camping (me, husband, and 2 young children). When booking I took quite a long time looking over the campsite options and specifically booked our spot because it didn't have a poison ivy warning and said it was partially grass covered. NEITHER was true...our campsite was surrounded heavily by poison ivy and not a blade of grass to be found, instead it was a pure dirt sight (not sand but dirt). Our children's first camping experience was filled with "don't touch that plant, don't go by the trees" and endless amounts of gritty dirt/mud embedded in our clothes, tent, and skin. We took a walk around the campground and there appears to be poison ivy everywhere! I understand they protect the environment by not spraying or controlling any plants but a warning would have been nice. We stayed at Cottonwood Old Park because it is radio free and the sight did have some privacy but was small. Originally friends were suppose to be joining us but I'm glad they opted out because I'm not sure we would have fit two tents comfortably, as it stated the sight was big enough for. The beach is nice but I don't find it all that much better than some of the other beaches within a 1 hour drive. It was pretty windy so they had swimming warning posted, extreme danger due to rip currents. I am a pretty avid camper and while we made the most of this camping experience and had fun for the kids I won't be back. Before leaving Long Point we took a drive past the other campgrounds to see if maybe next time we should give them a try, if they were nicer. The answer was easy. No way! They appeared crowded and even from the car I spotted quite a few spots covered in poison ivy. I guess if you were camping kid free (and pet free because I wouldn't want to have to worry about my pet running into the weeds) it might be a bit more enjoyable. I know some like the camping so close to a beach but that doesn't do too much for me so it wasn't a huge plus. Bathrooms don't bother me but I will note that the one closest to our sight wasn't very clean and didn't have electricity.

Picked up a new motorhome and needed a place to try it out that was convenient to the dealership. We chose Long Point for a couple of nights. The spot we picked was not the best choice. Located in the Monarch campground it was right next to the washroom facility. Although convenient it proved to be a busy spot especially when the Friday night arrivals. It wasn't a busy time, but in the busy season this would not be a good site. The site was fairly level and had some sand. Next time I would pick one of the pull through sites. More grass, fairly well spaced and maybe fewer bugs given that they are more open. Those sites will have less privacy however. The sites close to the water are all sand as they are right in the dunes. No good for a motorhome - you will get stuck! The beach looks fantastic. A little too breezy and cool for us, but there were a number of people enjoying the beach and even some in the water. Not bad for early June. The fresh water fill up is located at the dump station just as you enter the park. We didn't know that so had to go back to fill up. When we arrived the office was closed for the day, but they had our reservation posted so no problem getting to the site and setting up. All in all a nice provincial park and one that we will have to visit again.

Beautiful sand beach stretches into the horizon. Shallow, warm water of Lake Erie. A must visit. Follow highway 59 to the end. Longpoint Provincial Park offers day beach parking for a fee. There is picnic tables and places to have a charcoal bbq. Along the highway, past the marinas there are a few p[laces where you can eat. Take out only.

We stayed at Long Point Provincial Park for a week in July. Our site was in Monarch Camp ground, in amongst the dunes. This was excellent as it was sheltered for camping and private for relaxing. The distances between camp sites is huge, with lots of vegetation and dune to give you the 'alone with nature' feeling. During the day, birds. During the evening, birds. Dusk is marvelous, with birds and bats getting their share of bugs. The beach is a two minute walk, making it easy to come and go through the day. Night at the beach is spectacular, with the Milky Way visible, as well as the distant lights of New York, PA and Ohio. Wavy water is usually warm water, flat water is cold. All was good. My second favourite provincial park.
