The archives are the best in the area. The staff are very helpful. We are members of the Norfolk Historical Society and therefore enjoy the benefits of membership. I encourage people to sign up for membership, because this is needed to keep the museum open. They have many interesting forums that are not expensive at all. In addition, there are special interesting exhibits all year long. They sponsor Norfolklore every September. That alone definitely is worth the trip to Simcoe!

It's a relatively small museum. Then again Simcoe is a small town. You will be surprised at the professional set up of displays and the smiling faces behind the desk. Great way to spend an hour or so and also enjoy some quiet as you check out both floors.

The museum has a wealth of historical archives from the very early settlers to the United Empire Loyalists to modern day events

I visited Simcoe for the sole purpose of researching my family ancestry and I was not disappointed. The staff was very helpful and they had more information on my family than I had imagined. Thanks!
