AGR2013
We visited the gardens in October 2014. Loved to see nature at its best. Though it was fall, we still enjoyed walking around the gardens. There was a wedding going on, and the garden staff were concerned about us and how we should not leave without enjoying the side of the garden where the wedding ceremony was going on. Very impressed with the staff and their customer service. We met Darren there who waited for us to walk around, come back and then enjoy the musical fountains!! The gardens of course are well planned, well taken care of, and amazing. Each tree, plant, shrub has the Botanical name and common name tag next to it. For someone like me, who just enjoys nature but not familiar with the plant names, it was like attending botany class in the open! A place worth visiting.

There are so many unique miniature shrubs and trees at Whistling Gardens. I love how cute they are and that I can enjoy them without having to trim all the time. The owner, Darren has a passion a knowledge of the trees and takes time with each customer's needs working with them to find the right plantings for the situation. I once had a need for a smallish tree that wouldn't get deep roots and wind it's way into my septic bed. Another time I was looking for a unique tree for gift for an arbourist....Darren has been a great help in each garden quest. I also love to wander the gardens for ideas and see trees and shrubs I have never seen before. The gardens are beautiful and give me an idea of the size and shape of things as they grow. My sister likes to find the biggest version of what she wants in the garden centre and I am thrilled to find a less expensive younger version and wait for it to grow. Make Whistling Gardens a stop on your way for perch and beer in Port Dover -but be sure to allow 2-3 hours to see the gardens, the swans and to see and hear the amazing musical fountain! Also be ready with something to line your trunk -I use a leaf bag -as there is sure to be at least one miniature that wends its way into your heart!

For those of you who are enthralled by the beauty of nature, add Whistling Gardens to your must see list. As gardeners, friends and I have made an annual trek there for the last 3 years and are amazed at how beautifully this garden is evolving. The variety of trees is particularly impressive with literally thousands of species artistically grouped with water features, shrubs and perennials. A walk through this paradise is not only relaxing and enjoyable, it is also inspirational. The bonus of being able to purchase, for a reasonable price, dwarf conifers or Japanese maples unavailable from any other retailer in Canada is the icing on the cake.

My husband & I visited this wonderful botanical garden this summer after reading about it in the Kitchener Record. We think we have discovered a gem! The gardens are beautifully designed & were full of flowers, shrubs & plants too numerous to mention. A pond with swans, gazebo area ideal for weddings & fountains all enhanced this amazing space created from corn fields. It is well worth a visit; take a picnic or stop on the way in Paris & enjoy lunch by the river.

I am not a big garden goer. But my friends are. Located about 20 minutes south of Brantford. Cost to get in is $ 13.00 which I thought seemed a lot at first before getting in. Garden was built up over the years and I think it is owned by one family. Walking around you admire the plants and flowers but you are sort of taken back by the amount of effort/passion that must have been used to develop this. There are cactus and Freak-a-zoids which I gather are unusual hybrid and strange plants, so a person who really knows there greenery would be pretty impressed. They had a display at end which was music sync'd with sprinklers. They joked that it was like a mini Bellagio. Give it high marks for value and effort. Just sense they have put there heart and soul into this.
