Just before Hallowe'en, I had the opportunity to visit Howell's Pumpkin Patch. It was an easy drive from Hamilton and there was plenty of parking available including handicapped when we arrived.Feast for the senses as there are many vignettes made with pumpkins as you make your way into the farm. They were imaginative and made my small companion laugh and smile.Entry fees weren't too costly. The all day everything pass was a good deal, but as we arrived later in the afternoon, we decided to go with a basic entry and purchase coupons for the activities that we wanted. They have so many things to do at Howells. There is the wagon ride, pig races, rubber ducky races, the haystack pillow bouncer, the apple cannons, several wagon train type rides around the farm. There are farm animals to see and some to pat and feed. My tiny companion enjoyed feeding the sheep and was delighted to be kissed by them. There are rabbits and an ostrich and donkeys. I think my little fella enjoyed the bouncer the best. Lines moved quickly and we were able to play here for quite a while. One of the nicest things, the bouncer isn't just for little folk. Time is measured by music and once the song is over, your time is at an end. There are two lines, one for big folk and one for tiny folk and they don't bounce together. Parents may accompany the little ones if required. Tons of fun.The apple cannons looked like a great deal of fun, but there were a large number waiting to lay. My little guy wasn't so keen to try them but we have put this on the list for next year. After checking everything out, we were feeling peckish and took advantage of the delightful treats on offer. Pumpkin sausage was a neat thing to try for the big people. The French fries and gravy were very good. Pumpkin donuts and candy floss rounded out our repast. The prices aren't too far out of range and the wait for your items isn't over long. There were a few things we didn't try. Everything pumpkin, including soup and other sweet treats to try are on the list for next year.We had a lovely time on a lovely Sunday afternoon. We definitely will be back to play next year. It is one of the BEST pumpkin patches that I have visited.

This place is awesome. The owners are so creative and improve things every year. The value is excellent (based on other attractions I have been to, they should charge MORE). The shows are excellent and animatronics are really professional. Very Well Done Howell's! Keep up the good work!

This farm is beautiful, there's no doubt about that. It's a real shame because they've gone and upped the price for everything. We're a family of three and to get in it was nearly $60 just to enter. That is extreme for a pumpkin farm. On top of that exuberant price, we *still* had to pay to play the the most exciting attractions--the apple cannon, the pumpkin sling shot and the duck race--which wasn't even working properly-- were all more money. We were hungry while there but decided to wait to get something to eat because it was so expensive and we had already given them nearly $80 dollars just to enter and play. Unbelievable! They're greedy and it's a shame because they have a nice farm with lots to do. Even the pumpkins are overpriced. It's too bad that they've changed their prices. There are so many other nice things to do for the fall season in the area, we won't be going back to this one.

My husband and I brought our 4 year old grand daughter here to "see the pumpkins". Little did I know this was a pseudo amusement park for little ones. By the time we left, we'd spent $80! That was for 3 admissions at $16.95pp plus pop and bbq hot dogs/sausages. You can "just go and see the pumpkins" and the big haystack animals set up outside the gate to get in. You don't have to pay to go "inside the gates". Parking is free. If you just want to go in and walk around without going on any of the attractions, it is $6.95pp. We were going to do that and then just buy some tickets a la carte to try out a few of the attractions (hay ride, corn maze) but it ended up in the long run just being cheaper to buy the $16.95 all inclusive day pass. Although, even with that, there were still some options that you had to pay for (like "apples" for the ammunition for these gun blasters and little rubber ducks for the duck races). If we were to do it again, I think we'd buy an all inclusive day pass for our little one ($16.95) so she can do some of the things that aren't included in just the entry fee, and then just the entry fee for each of us ($6.95) and do without things like the hay ride (which was really not all that worth it) and the corn maze (which was fun). For the little ones, the big jumping "pillow" was a lot of fun; going on the little dinosaur or cow train was as well. There's also a haunted house for the older ones (which we tried but was too scary for our little grand daughter so we left through the "chicken door").Things included in the $6.95 day pass: little "shows" such as singing skeletons and crows located throughout the park (kinda choochie for adults but fun for the little ones), live baby pig races, a bit of a petting zoo (with an ostrich that was really cool!), a goat walk which is fun to see the goats climb up to, and a few climbing things.I think the family do a great job putting this whole thing together. And the attractions are only open for about 6 weeks leading up to Hallowe'een (mid Sept to Oct 31). So a lot of work for a short period of time. Which is why it is most likely so expensive. I just wish it was a little more affordable though like many others have said. So, all in all, if you can get away with just taking your kids in for the $6.95pp and looking around for an hour or two and then leaving, then worth the trip (although I agree it would be nice if there was a reduced "family pricing" option available). Otherwise, be prepared to dole out a lot of dough!

I am a Local. Born and raised. Been going to Howells forever. In the last few years they have decided to start charging. And I am ok with that. But I am not ok with charging an insane amount of money, like they do. We have three children, so it can add up. I wish the owners would take into consideration bigger families. Maybe a family rate on seasons passes?... Or not charge for parents. For us to enjoy this place for the month with our three kids, it would cost us almost $140. And that's not including any extra costs on snacks, or pumpkins. As a matter of fact, that doesn't even include all the activities inside the farm. The girl at the cash told us the admission keeps going up cause of the added things on the farm....and yet everything they have added in the last few years has cost extra after you get the gate!!!!! (Zombie gun game, apple cannon, pumpkin toss, etc). So if the attractions you keep adding are extra money anyways, then why are you upping the basic admission???Also the staff is extremely disengaged, and most of them seem like they would rather be anywhere else than at their job. My husband and I are constantly chuckling at how depressed the staff sound when interacting with us and our children.

Not worth the 17$ they suck out of you for admission. Not to mention the 5$ for a hamburger. Or 7$ for fries. Suppose to be a kid attraction but you'll pay the same amount for more fun at an amusement park. Not impressed at all. Save your money and don't go here. The staff doesn't have a clue what's going on and can't honor any promotions they post online.

My family and I used to go to howell's every year when I was younger now that my two little sisters are of age we brought them today for cheap night. It was awful! Cheap night started at 5:00 p.m but nothing was up and running for that time! Half of the attractions were still closed and did not open until close to 6:00 p.m. Everything is highly over priced now and not worth the cash. They were out of most of the halloween treats such as candy apples and only had the deluxe which came too $6.50 with tax. Horrible experience we will not be going again.

We took our 2 year old daughter for a fun fall day. We got there when they opened at 11 and it was downhill from there. The admission girl didn't get her till or wristbands until 11 and didn't know how to accept Wagjag coupons. Other workers kept coming up to her and telling her different things. Even she was confused. When we got in, a bunch of the "attractions" were NOT up and going. No wagon rides (even when we left at 12:30, there were no wagon rides), the little cow and dragon train things were just being looked over - which shoudl have been done before opening! If you open at 11, I expect everything to be up and going. What were you people doing all morning? Also I couldn't find a family washroom or baby changing station. Where are we supposed to change our little ones diapers? There were big maintenance tractors going through the place, a danger for those with little ones. I just felt it was VERY unorganized. There are better fall activities in the area, we won't be revisitng this one.

I had been to Howell's years ago and decided to take A (23 months) there on the weekend. It is $5 admission for adults, but children under three were free. I thought this was pretty reasonable, considering everything is right on the owner's property and proceeds go to keeping the place running. There are so many things to do there! There was an area with activities you paid tickets for. Tickets were $1.50 each and most activities required 2 or 3 tickets. There were more activities for a kids a little older than A so we stuck with the hayride. It cost 3 tickets, but to be honest, wasn't worth it. We went around the corn maze and was back within 10 minutes. Nothing really scenic, like it said. There were tons of free stuff that was just as fun as the paid attractions. There was a hay jump, which A loved! We got to see many farm animals and even feed them. I would recommend hanging out in the free area. There really is alot to do and A was occupied the whole time.Of course there were pumpkins. Every shape and size! The price wasn't too bad either. They had a snack bar with hot items such as hotdogs and hamburgers. Seemed a little expensive, but we didn't eat there. There was also a bakery part where you could get pumpkin muffins and donuts! Mmm.All in all it was a great day! We'll return next year for sure!

We go here every year when we visit relatives for Thanksgiving. We go when it is just getting dark. The girls love the bucking cows, and the tractor ride. You can't see the animals very well at night, but everything else lights up and feels haunting. They added a haunted barn, which was fun to go through. Also they change things every year, which is why it is good to go back. Loved the fresh out of the over cookies too!

I was a little hesitant to visit the farm after reading the reviews. I am admitted;y cheap. I don't mind spending a little extra to support local farmers, but I don't like being ripped off. I got the wagjag deal at half off, and thought it was a great deal, but at full price its fair. There is lots for young children to do: hay jump, wagon rides, corn maze, animals, sandbox, playground, lots of displays. My son had a great time. The food was slight overprice but not outrageous ($4 for a large hot dog, almost $5 for a hamburger). The animals seemed well treated (keep in mind I am not a huge animal rights activist so my idea of abuse is small cages, bad sanitation, poorly fed animals - none of which was true of this farm). I highly recommend this farm. I will be returning next year.

I visited Howells Pumpkin farm this year, it was very interesting! They had a lot more to see than just pumpkins. We toured the place and they have really cool animated shows, a scary barn haunted house too!The animals looked happy and well taken care of also. I went inside where they sell fudge and even pumpkin donuts. These were great! They sould think of selling the donuts at the local markets. The place was fun, and can see the younger children really liking this place! There's more to see here than just pumpkins!

I have lived in Niagara my whole life - I frequent all the local attractions because I am truly a kid at heart - now I have my own family (husband and 2 children under 2 years of age.) I agree - Howells (and most attractions) are expensive - I budget a year in advance for season passes I want to purchase so when I do have to fork out the money it's a little bit less of a burden - but as other reviews have mentioned - there are special days to make it easier on your wallet - I love Howells - I have been going here for 12years + LOL maybe more?? It is a very fun place - lots of things to do and see - I reccomend it to everyone. On another note ...I would like to see more attractions such as Howells, Safari Niagara, Marineland etc start to offer Family Passes for $50 ish dollars for a family of 4 for example. I think it would attract more business. Lol or at least make that $3.99 cold beverage you charge go down a bit easier. ........ Start making these family business' back to being about spending time with families......not a money grab. It would just be nice if everyone could enjoy the fun.
