What a jewel they Township of Tay has created with the Tay Shore Trail. About 16 km of fairly flat, wide, paved trail that connects to trails in Midland and Severn Township to the east. The trail has a variety of access points that are signed from roads and highways. Along the trail are beautiful vistas of Georgian Bay, dense forest, agricultural areas and small communities along the way. Serious cyclists and walkers come here from far away to enjoy the trail. The trail is kept in super shape, with garbage and recycling bins along the way, along with some toilet facilities. There are also interpretive historical postings along the way, explaining the historical significance of particular areas.

Great way to spend the afternoon! Smooth paved trail. Fairly scenic. Rest spots with benches and garbage & recycling receptacles. Small towns along the way where you can stop enjoy the attractions! If you want to have fun in small town do the yay shore trail.

The Tay Shore Trail between Midland and Waubushene Ontario is one of the very best. We have biked on over 50 trails in Eastern north america and this trail ranks with the very best.It is 16 flat km of asphalt and mostof the trail it follows Georgian Bay. Approx every km there is a bench or picnic table with garbage barrels AND blue recycling bins!. Km are marked on the pavement. At every road crossing there are signs with lots of information. There are two portable toilets along the route but no water.in Victoria Harbour there is a grocery store right on the trail and also a library and post office (washroom!)The trail is part of the TransCanada trail and connects at one end to the Midland Waterfront Trail and at Waubushene it continues to Coldwater where it connects to the Uthoff Trail that leads to Orillia. We highly recommend the Tay Shore Trail.
