welland museum

If you want to spend a hour or less this is a good place to see interesting facts about the Welland canal system. But, it needs some upgrading. A beautiful old building it is housed in and the staff appeared to be not that interested. A movie theatre set up in the middle of the theatre took 2 staff to finally get them to turn the movie on. Lots of stuff, LOTs! of dust! It appears that they have interesting March break programs coming up.

what a great place to spend a couple hours. It has a lot of local artifacts and some really cool displays and photos. It's also very affordable. Everyone in Welland should make a visit at least once

It is a great small town museum, it has many good programs and displays for people of all ages! Really deserves more attention than it probbaly receives right now!

It amazes me that the cruise ship industry doesn't use its smaller ships for Great Lake Travel opportunities. The Welland ship canal is totally amazing. Many more locks, vastly greater depth, and an amazing accomplishment which bypasses the mighty Niagara Falls and connects Lakes Ontario and Erie...So many great cities, the Festival city of Niagara on the Lake, The wine country and tours, beaches, fine dining are all in and around the Welland Canal...see the enormous locks, the variety of lift bridges which allow freighters and pleasure craft alike to navigate this amazing attraction. If your in the are don't miss it...you cross it on the Queen Elizabeth highway from the U.S. crossings en-route to Toronto and beyond. The size of the ships will stagger you looking up and then and then they disappear as they lower out of sight in the enormous locks.
