We hiked this trail after a late lunch and found it fairly easy. There are ALOT of stairs as one ventures out on the cliff to view the rugged coast of the Gulf of the St. Lawrence. As you look towards the Cabot Trail, the school buses winding their way up the road looked like toys (so small). There are benches along the trail to sit and relax and take in the scenery, the lovely views and inhale the fresh air. This trail offers a very beautiful view!! We loved it!

Easy to moderate hike with beautifully laid out boardwalk. There are directions to scenic points where you can stop and take a picture. There are bathroom and bear proof garbage bins close to the parking lot. Didn't get to see much wildlife but enjoyed it nonetheless. Also, it may be tempting but do not wear headphones or walk alone. There have been coyote sightings in the past and even attacks. Mid afternoon is a perfect time as there are many people around doing the same hike.

A great way to spend a few hours, hiking the Skyline Trail overlooking the beautiful mountains in the Cabot Trail.

We hiked the skyline on beautiful day in September...near the end of the day. The trail is fairly flat and you have a wonderful view at the end. We hiked a number of other trails in the park but this one, as advertised, is really worth it!We decided to buy an annual Parks Canada pass as we could use the pass in other parks during the year.

I was originally told about this hike at the Parks Canada welcome centre. We weren't able to make it in the evening before sundown, so we were advised to go early the next morning (around 7 am) instead if we wanted to see some wildlife. Luckily enough, we did see two moose: one was high up on a hill, and the other was smack in the middle of the trail as we rounded the corner! It was a little scary being that close to a full-size moose, we ended up going off the trail about 20 feet to get around it.The view from the main lookout was spectacular! The boardwalk was long and did not have guardrails, so that part of the hike might not be appropriate for families with small children. Overall, it was a highly memorable experience and a hike I would love to do again some day!

The Skyline Trail is a fairly easy, mostly flat hike. Boardwalks have been put up over some of the rougher areas making it navigable for strollers or wheelchairs. The trails are well maintained and wide. The view at the end of the trail is breathtaking. Take binoculars and a camera! Depending on the time of year you could see whales passing through. Moose have been spotted on the trails many times, eagles, hawks and the odd coyote. There are no bathrooms along the way. No fee to do this hike either. It can be very windy up there as you are on a cliff. We packed a light lunch and water is a must. Benches to sit on when you do reach the end so you can sit and enjoy the view, perhaps watch the sunset. This trail is one of the most photographed locations of Cape Breton and is on most advertisements that you see.

Easy trail to reach the boardwalk that takes you downhill with glorious views of the Gulf of St-Lawrence. Many benches for resting and hoping for catching a glimpse at some whales.

Not a difficult hike for most anyone. The trek is so worth the spectacular view at the ocean end of the trail. Watch out for angry moose tho!! No fee for the trail itself but you may have to pay the fee to enter the National Park.

This was an easy hike on a wide, well maintained trail. When you get to the end of the trail, there is a boardwalk that twists and turns and goes out to the edge for I am sure are more amazing views. However, the day we were there, the winds were so gusty that I felt like a sail standing there and was afraid to go out any further. The wind was blowing towards the cliffs and I was not comfortable at all trying to go out further. While there is not a fee for the trail, you must pay the National Park entrance fee to hike on the trails.

This well groomed trail leads to spectacular ocean views. The vegetation on the trail is varied and interesting. Don't be surprised if you walk around a corner and come upon a moose or two grazing in the brush! Well worth the hike.

This is a very nice trail to hike. The trail is wide and clear all the way to the cliffs, once you arrive at the cliffs there is a wooden walkway down to the final deck that overlooks the Bay. The day that we were there the wind was really blowing and you could hardly stand so I opted not to go down the final wood walk way.

This trail is about 2 hours and is a beautiful walk. Make sure you just do the short trail. We did the long one and there wasn't much to see. At the end of the trail the view is spectacular. Walk down all the stairs! Getting back up is definetly a challenge.

We were really lucky to enjoy this very walkable trail on a lovely fall day. Not being the avid outdoors types, we were able to leisurely stroll and take in all the sky high vistas and the blazing fall colours. We didn't see any moose or black bear (which was disappointing to some of our family - but ok for me!). The path is well groomed and easy to navigate out to the top edge of the mountain. If you are the brave type, you can walk down the side of the mountain. Hopefully it is sunny when you get there, as you can see well over the ocean and the tiny cars working their way up the mountain. This is a great family outing.

At he end of the trail you get those amazing coastline views. Should be doable by all levels of fitness as the trail is well marked and not that steep. We were lucky enough to see moose along the way. Be sure to read the signs about the Cape Breton coyotes !!Travel in a small group.
