Scout Island is a wonderful little getaway right in the city. Dogs are allowed on leash, there is wonderful birding, and sometimes wildlife viewing (beavers, muskrat, deer, bear). There are a few different walking loops. The nature centre, when open, has some fantastic, interactive nature displays that are fun and informative for the whole family. Highly recommended and all free!

Such a fun spot to take kids! Very nice trails, a cute little beach and the nature centre itself is very cute!

A good place to get outdoors and go for a little nature walk with the kids. The always have functions going on for nature education and they present it hands on for the kids which they really love. Good little easy walking and a small hill which most ages can handle.

A pleasant small area with limited wildlife, one for the locals really. Not what I would consider a Tourist attraction. An hours walk is quite sufficient.

I have gone here a number of times with a group of children and they learn about the local flora and fauna of the area. I love the touch friendly exhibits and how they change from year to year. Thanks for your hard work!

I enjoy walking on scout island with my dog as it is pet friendly. Scenic and easy to navigate trails make it accessible to everyone.

beautiful place to just go for a nice nature walk. It is located right in the heart of Williams Lake and if your looking for some quiet time or just a place to enjoy a nice walk without having to drive outside of town. It is also a great learning centre and a great place for kids to explore.

Scout Island is truly an example of Nature in Harmony. A place where people can safely take the whole family to enjoy a day, or even just a couple of hours. There are foxes to get a glimpse of, ducks and geese nesting all around the lagoon, flowers, bushes and trees to enjoy. Trails to explore, playground for the kids, picnic area. A beautiful NATURAL spot right close to downtown Williams Lake, free for residents and visitors alike to enjoy. All that is asked is that you don't disturb the wildlife, especially during hatching season, and that you clean up your garbage behind you.

This is a lovely place to walk along the lake - surprising actually that not much else from the town of Williams Lake is actually on the lake. Lots of nature, and nice views. The path towards the end is a bit overgrown, and could use some pruning - other than that, well worth the visit.

Scout Island is the jewel of Williams Lake. Pack a lunch, take your kids and grandkids to the nature house. What an adventure! Walk the many paths through the marsh, along the lake, over the bridge. If you're really quiet you may get to see the beavers paddling about their stick house. Or you may come upon pelians, Canada geese, a wide assortment of water fowl to take pictures or simply watch them as they go about their daily business. Large grass area for kids to run and play. Dogs are welcome (leash please). Beach area for swimming.
