Wow! Lots of stuff to see! Well worth the admission! More than just the one building...go out back to the other houses and check out the vehicles etc! Young kids will find it interesting too! For a small town, I would say this is a must see! Thank you!

If you are in Fort Nelson, this is the place to visit. The curatorsof the museum are long time residents of the town and will gladly share fun and lively stories from theirpast if they are there. The museum has numerous educational displays preserving the history of the area. Even though we live here, we still make a yearly trip as every time we learn something new. A friendly step back in time!

This is an excellent little piece of history about the Trail of 42 and local history of the Alaska Highway. There are animal exhibits, lots of nostalgic pieces and one amazing man- Marl Brown!

Very enjoyable break in the long drive on the "Alsaskan Highway". This is a random compilation that is appears to be more or less totally random. Thus meeting the owner helps you understand why he bought this piece or that. We visited in the Spring of 2013 and the owner was spry but was not going to compete in any athletic competitions soon. He told us his age which I have forgotten. In any event, lots of old trucks, old cars and miscellaneous "old" antiques that you will enjoy.

The Fort Nelson Museum is one of the best. Marl Brown has dedicated a large portion of his life to collecting and organizing the history of the Alaska Highway in one small building and lot. It is simply amazing. Hats off to a job well done.

This past spring I spent about 3 hours touring the Ft. Nelson Museum. That is not enough time to fully enjoy all the great exhibits.Lots of great historical items related to the construction of the Alaska highway including Equipment and Vehicles from the period. There is something there for everyone and it is a must see if you are passing through fort Nelson.

The main museum is chock-a-block with all sorts of items that were used fifty to one hundred years ago. We were there during the Heritage Days festival in February. Taxidermied animals, weapons, crockery and cutlery, hand crank wringer washing machines, furniture, clothing, snow shoes, jewellery, churns, tea sets, lots of photos..... I seemed like every inch of wall space and supporting beams were covered with displays from floor to ceiling. They had a fiddle band in the back corner and a bake sale with some pretty interesting cakes and breads near the entrance. Another building houses antique vehicles and still another building was filled with ladies cooking bannock and serving tea. Quite a lot of activity for this time of year. Well worth a stop when driving the Alaska Highway.

Stop here - you wont regret it! Its full of interesting, quirky, unusual, unexpected "stuff". Its difficult to explain as there is so much there to see and it doesnt really fit into any particular theme, but its well worth the visit. Do go into the Hudson House and the loggers cabin (warmest place to be on a cold day!) and spend time with the vintage cars. There's so much to see that you'll easily find something that piques your interest.
