hudson's hope visitor centre

Could not believe how much history there is in Hudson's Hope. For such a small town there is so much to see and do and the people running the Visitors Centre could not have been nicer and were so informative about the area. I just wish we had more time there to see more of the area. Definitely a place worth visiting.

Very interesting area. I enjoyed my stop at the centre. There is a lot of history in Hudson's Hope dating back hundreds of years. With the two beautiful dams, lakes and the impressive Peace River it is out of the ordinary.

This Visitor Center is located in a pretty log building. When we arrived it was just opening time, and the clerk let us in through the back door. There are lots and lots of brochures here, for both the local areas as well as many parts of British Columbia and the Yukon. This is dinosaur country, and the clerk (I believe her name was Kathy) told us how the dinosaur prints had been discovered nearby and showed us copies of several of them. She offered lots of great tips about the area and suggested we go across the street to the museum - which we did, see separate review about that.Although this Visitor Center was not large or nearly as glamorous as the one in Williams Lake, we were greeted warmly and provided with a lot of free information! It is worth stopping by :-)

Wenn sie reinkommen werden sie gleich herzlich und mit einem Lächeln durch Kathy, die Leiterin des Tourist Office, begrüßet. Es duftet nach frischem Kaffe, den es for free gibt und ein gut funktionierendes Internet Terminal steht auch zur Verfügung. Es gibt natürlich auch w-lan zur freien Benutzung. Ansonsten bekommen sie alle Info über die Region und natürlich den Rest der Provinz BC und den angrenzenden Alberta, North West Territories, Yukon und Alaska.

Ein sehr idyllischer Ort mit vielen Facetten und Drehort des ersten Rambofilms " First Blood ". Sehr geeignet um einen netten Tag oder auch mehrere für Ausflüge und Erkundungen in der Stadt selbst oder dem Gebirge zu verbringen.

Das sehr gut informierte Team hat für ganz BC Unterlagen zur Hand. Ein wLan steht kostenfrei zur Verfügung und man bekommt sogar einen Kaffee angeboten.
