We arrived during lunch (closed between 12-1) but did the walking tour of the village and the school. Found it informative, and my children learned about Secwepemc history and culture.

We visited this museum today and found it to be very interesting. Not high tech or innovative, but the displays were well labeled, and the staff was very friendly and informative. We toured the grounds and especially enjoyed seeing the summer and winter homes. The history is sad at points as these people were poorly treated as were the natives in the U. S., but it was heartening to see the tribal school in session right next door where the traditions, and even the language, are being preserved.

If you're in this area, go and visit this museum. It's part of a Sushwamp community project and run by a band. Very eye opening and interesting.

This is a great local museum for a 90 minute visit. The cost is very reasonable, just $20 dollars for a family ticket, the staff are really enthusiastic and knowledgeable and give you an excellent overview of First Nation culture and customs. The reconstructed houses in the park are also fascinating. Well worth the visit.

This is an excellent place to get closer to First Nation culture and people. It may not have the monumental carvings of the MOA but you learn a lot more about how First Nation people live and lived. It is relatively small but there are some good exhibits and the staff are very helpful and friendly - though it does close early!A good way to spend an hour or two in Kamloops

One of the best, and most comprehensive First Nations museums in B.C that I have been to. If you love anthropology/archaeology you will probably find yourself spending hours here as I did. While I could have done without the introductory video, I did find the museum displays to be very well presented, informative, and well lit. Interesting displays and dioramas certainly complimented the museum. Even though there was snow on the ground and it was bitterly cold, I ventured out onto the main interpretive grounds. I visited the numerous pit houses and various outside displays. Best part is that you are free to enter the structures, and explore. The next time I'm in the area during the summer, I will be returning as I am sure the native species gardens on the property are beautiful at that time of the year. Great place to have a pick nick . Well worth the money!

The individual at the museum, I forget her name, was a wealth of information. She introduced us to the Secwepemc people and then led us through a time of discovery. Well worth going. We took a short walk through the park where buffalo hides were being prepared - what a fantastic opportunity for children and adults to participate in.

The museum itself is small but very well set up. The park outside is a wonderful walk among the pit houses.

For $10, you really can't go wrong. An interesting look into the local history of British Columbia, complete with a recreated winter village. Easily seen in about 2 hours.

The exhibits that were seen were easy to read and understand. The displays were interesting and the outdoor exhibits were a look back into the history of the region. The First Nations of Canada survived in drastically changing climates.

A good overview of the heritage of local aboriginal history. Visitors to the heritage park should be able to walk a fair distance in order to view the whole area. During summer months go in the morning to avoid the heat.

We took our preschool age child and a few of his friends to the Secwepemc Museum and Heritage park for a picnic lunch and a tour of the museum. The outdoor heritage park is lovely - open with winding paths all of the flora and fauna are marked with signs (which is nice when your children say "what's this? What's this?") and it also includes some information about traditional uses. The winter "pit houses" are very cool - you can go inside them and have lunch at the little benches and get a sense of what it was like to live in one. There are several pit houses and then some more in various stages of build so you can see how they were built. All of the outdoor attractions have lots of signage with information. The highlight was the board walk that circles the archeological site where the original pit houses were. Not only is it interesting the kids loved to run around and around the circle. We were met at the inside of the museum by a guide who took us gently by the hand and showed us around. She sang the children a lullaby and played the drum for them and even let them see the canoe toy her father had made for her when she was little. The kids LOVED it and were entranced by the signing and the drumming. She then taught them to say "thank you" and to count to 10. She showed us all of the exhibits and had a lot of personal connections that were interesting to us.Although not huge it has enough to see to be interesting and we enjoyed it
