Being one of the few Parks Canada sites near Vancouver, I expected a better experience and activities for my boys (8 &5). We learned a lot but it was very self guided with not many materials to guide us. I was hoping that the Gift Store would have had at least one book about the Fort, but it was more of a First Nations gift store and not a Parks Canada store, with no scholarly books - just native trinkets. There is great potential here but it needs to be followed through on - for the sake of educating our kids.

This step back in time provides kids with an excellent educational opportunity plus lots of outdoor space to run around. Plan ahead: different seasons offer different displays and events.

I really enjoyed Fort Langley we had great weather and we walked along the pier.. browsed the antique stores and bought all sorts of cranberry products! Plenty of adorable little restaurants in which to eat and small coffee shops. Well worth it for a relaxed.fun day trip either with family or couples or for friends.

Great place to spend the afternoon with the Family. Lots to see and do. Very Friendly Volunteers on site ready to tell you a story about the old days of the fort.

I have enjoyed visiting this site many times and is quite interesting. Best time to go is when there are special events being held.

I always enjoy taking out of town visitors here in the summer. My grandkids really enjoy panning for gold playing games that the volunteers organize. The Fort really gives one an idea of what life was like in the early days of B.C.

Thank you for visiting Fort Langley and providing feedback. I’m very sorry that your visit did not live up to your expectations. We certainly value all of our visitors and our costumed interpreters work throughout the year to offer visitors a memorable experience. As well, our exhibits are open year round in the historic Storehouse, the cooperage, the blacksmith shop, the Big House, the servants' quarters and more. Our oTENTiks (tent-like accommodations for those who would like the experience of sleeping inside the walls of this 19th century fort) are available for viewing upon request. Your feedback is important to us and will help us continue to improve our service. I will share your input with our staff and I hope that we can have the opportunity to impress you at another time. Please contact me and I can provide a complimentary admission on your next visit.

Fort Langley is a wonderful spot to take visitors from out of town, and the Fort itself is a must-see! There are several different events throughout the year in the Fort and at Christmas they have a very traditional caroling event. All the buildings have been redone over the years, but careful attention to detail has been maintained. Love the Fort!

I visited from the UK whilst staying with relatives nearby. What an interesting place, and very well kept. It was good to watch a working smithy, appropriately dressed for the era. Everything was well explained as you walked around the site. There were so many things to look at in the barns, lots of interesting displays etc. The houses were also very authentic, they brought it home to you that so much has changed since those days (how well off we are today). I hadn't realised until I went, that this was also the birthplace of British Columbia, I had just thought that it had been a trading post for the Hudson Bay Company, which it was actually, before and after the declaration. There was also fun for the children, they could pan for gold! All in all very enjoyable outing.

Fort in BC was built in the early 1800's and offers guests a glimpse into life for its residents. Although I have been to Fort Langley countless times throughout my life, it never gets old. We took some guests from Germany to the fort and they loved it. Despite the amount of history they are used to seeing in Europe, the history of BC was very enlightening for them. The highlight for our Germany visitors was cooking bannock over an open fire with wiener sticks... who would have thunk?

It's the best way to spend an autumn weekend with friends and family. The site gives you the real feel of being there during those trading period: the barns with so many interesting things to see and learn were set on stage like in the movies; the friendly narrators dressed in traditional clothing, were very informative, and very engaging and entertaining like real actors with their demonstrations; the displays were authentic and unlike in a museum, they are touchable. The wet, fall weather added that feel to the authenticity of the place. There's a coffee shop right on site and clean washrooms at the entrance. Leaving the site, I felt like a part of an old western movie, who learned a very important part of Canadian history. Highly recommended to the whole family!

Well maintained with good variety of very interesting displays and features. Great way to spend a few hours with family. Kids can try panning for gold, and lots for adults too. The guides are very knowledgeable and dressed in period clothing. Very authentic feel. We visit the Fort at least once a year and still look forward to each visit.
