four of us had a wonderful 4 hour trip with Emily as guide. She was very informative and knowledgeable and her extensive experience was obvious. I was a rank beginner yet she was able to re-assure me and get me into and out of the kayak. Kudos for a fantastic experience.

Jay and Emily were super awesome and helpful. Great with beginner kayakers, Emily was a lot of fun, while being safe and let us choose our own adventures out on the water! She gave us a beautiful tour of the bay and some interesting history of the area. Definitely worth a couple hours if you're going to pender! It was the highlight of our trip by far

My boyfriend and I did a 2-hour tour with Emily. Neither of us had been in a kayak before, but she was patient, clear and super friendly and we were on the water in no time. We explored the area around Port Browning, seeing seal pups, sea stars, crabs, jellyfish and sea cucumbers. We'd explored the islands on foot but this was something else entirely. Sitting in the middle of the bay as rain gently fell was incredible. Emily was awesome, we felt very safe and will definitely go out again next time we visit Pender Island!

You have a few choices of where to rent and with whom to go- but choose Pender Kayack Adventures! jay (and Emily) are great ambassadors for the sport. They teach you want you need to know so that you will feel safe and be able to fully take in the glorious coastline. A must!

About five years ago I joined one of Jay's Kayaking tours. I was immediately hooked. I had been an avid canoeist most of my life back east........ now my husband and I have our own kayaks and go out frequently to explore this incredible coast. This all because of Jay. His love for kayaking is contagious and he is extremely informative and very safety conscious. I highly recommend his memorable west coast experience!!!!!

Excellent staff, great equipment, easy paddle and superb weather, the location makes all the difference, did not have to worry about big waves or other boating traffic...

What a beautiful evening - the weather helped. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the area, wildlife and conditions. She took the time to show us some amazing creatures along the shore line. Kayaking on the ocean was new for us, but the instructions were more than enough to give us a safe and enjoyable evening.

We had not kayaked before, but were given easy to follow instructions on land before stepping into the kayaks then had excellent guidance during our trip. It all felt very comfortable and we were able to enjoy the scenery around us including a wonderful commentary of the wildlife, water life, island history and more. The guides make it work for all level of kayakers.

I'm terribly sorry you had a bad experience with contacting us and talking to our guide Colin. I was away at a kayak convention which made me not available. As per the experience speaking with Colin, my apologies. I do hope he did discuss our rental policy, which is one of every 4 persons in a group must know how to perform sea kayak self and assisted rescues. The other option is a tour or lessons. Please contact us when you are visiting next and we will set you up for a free rental if you meet the criteria, and if not, I will personally take you on a tour or give you the proper lessons to enable you gain the confidence to rent sea kayaks virtually anywhere in the world! (free of charge of course).Again, my sincerest apologies. We hope you give us the chance to serve you better in your paddling experience in the Salish Sea.

Looking for a safe and easy way to learn how to kayak. Try Pender Island Kayaking Adventures. Jay and his staff are patient, experienced kayak ers who seems to work well with all levels of paddlers. My goal was to learn to stay in the boat and enjoy the beautiful waters around Pender Island. So far, so good, thanks to Pender Island Kayaking.
