This is our second time to Sun Peaks and won't be our last. The interior snow is simply better than the coastal snow (even when they have it...) and skiing was excellent even late in the season in a bad season. The size and configuration of the mountain complex totally allowed for accomodation to conditions: for example, when the wind chill was too much on Crystal, we escaped it on Morrisey. Downsides would include not much to do on a bad ski day or for a family après ski, a bit small in the village and no meaningful connection between the Crystal chair and the peak of Todd.

Just came back from a week at Sun Peaks - had terrific holiday despite what the locals consider marginal snow conditions! Full coverage on the mountain except for the steepest terrain - better than most western Canadain resorts this season. Would be outstanding when they have their normal snow year. Compared to Whistler (skied it about 14 times!) different vibe. A true ski town, wonderful variety of runs, friendly locals, excellent guide program to introduce first timers to mountains, relaxed atmosphere - not the high end glitz and prices of Whistler, minimal lift lines!!!!! To whit, at the wine reception at Nancy Greene's Cahilty Lodge the mayor was pouring the wine!Dining and the apres ski scene is a little limited but what is there is good and reasonable. If you are going for the high end dining and big apres ski go elsewhere but, if you are a skier, this is for you.We will be back next season hopefully skiing powder!

It is not fancy like Whistler but more into really skiing and enjoying your stay. I liked the broad ski anywhere slopes and then the trails a glens. One could have group of mixed abilities but all ski together because of the trail arrangements.

Sun Peaks is a great ski hill. It has something for everyone and has plenty of options. Snow conditions are typically good although like the rest of the west coast of North America the 2015 season has been challenging. Where the resort is let down is by the limited dining options available.

Yesterday we took a trip on the 'Born to Run' dog sled ride throughout the beautiful country in this area, wow what an amazing experience, meeting and greeting the wonderful happy dogs and the recently born puppies. Then it was off into the run, exhilarating and exciting. The dogs are so happy to be out and working you can feel their energy. Our friendly informative guides, Chris and Jessica were happy to allow us a turn on the back of the sled to help drive. All too soon it was back to the starting area where we thanked those wonderful animals for the run and gave them their 'treat'A definite highlight of our stay in Sun Peaks so far, we truly recommend this activity, fantastic.

We came here 3 years ago, and are back again. Quaint village. Fantastic ski area. 3 mountains, 1 village. Ski in out..and lots of runs for every level of skier. Snow a bit sparse this year, but still plenty of runs. Slopes are quiet, wide sweeping runs. Blue skies. Love it!

This was our third year in a row at Sun Peaks. We have rented a town home on 2 occasions and a house on the other. There are lots of vacation properties to choose from with every amenity of your choosing. The village is very quaint and friendly, and very dog friendly as well. You may purchase a picture ski pass for your dog at guest services which acts as an identification tag if they are ever lost. The fee goes to SPCA. The ski hill boasts lots of runs of every ski level and all runs are easily accessed from the chair lifts with very little traversing required. An all around great ski destination.

Always rely on weather and good snow even in spring. Great range of runs which all end at the village. Very well thought out. Village is quaint with lots of restaurant choices, some shopping, community centre, and very family friendly. Best set up in BC.

Spent a week skiing in Sun Peaks in Jan 2015. Good resort, lots of piste choice ranging from beginners right up to double blacks. Stayed in an apartment which was right next to a return run to one of the chairs so ski in and out was great. The town centre itself has lots of bars and cafes, probably wouldn't spend more than a couple of weeks there but overall you couldn't fault it really, typical Canadian friendliness too!

This was our second ski holiday in Sun Peaks. After spending a total of four weeks here we can say that is one of our favourite ski locations. The mountain is big enough not to get bored, the lifts are well thought and well maintained with friendly ( mostly Australian ) staff. The majority of the slopes are blue and green which makes it easy for beginners and intermediate skiers. There are some black slopes and trees areas for the more advanced skiers. The grooming crew is very good.If you want night clubs and late night entertaining this is not your mountain. There are some very good restaurants but no night clubs....( a good thing in my opinion and we hope the management keeps it that way)

This was my first time to Sun Peaks and certainly sorry I hadn't come here sooner. My boys would have enjoyed skiing and boarding on the variety of runs and mountains. But better late than never - finally made the trip with our 3 year old grandson and we had a blast. The magic carpet got us going and soon we were off riding on together on some of green runs. Afternoon rips around the hill were fun on my own and will enjoy coming back during a better snow season.

Friendly no fuss atmosphere with amazing facilities and wonderful skiing. A place that people keep coming back to every year.

Sun Peaks is a good family resort with runs that are accessible for all skier abilities but mainly intermediate skiers. The resort has a very nice village with a good selection of restaurants, shops and hotels. My biggest complaint is regarding the on-hill food options. The base lodge and mid-mountain restaurants serve horrible, unimaginative food that is way over priced. The food is so expensive that we found it cheaper to just go into the village for lunch and eat in a full service restaurant. We also got way better food this way.

We love Sun Peaks so much the first time that we immediately booked for the following year (December 2013 and 2014). It has something for everyone ... skiing and snow boarding, dog sledding, tubing, ice skating, snow shoeing, the list goes on ...We wish we could spend every Christmas in Sun Peaks! It really is the ideal place for a family vacation. It's an easy drive from Kamloops (about an hour), or there are regular shuttles from the airport and the Greyhound bus depot. The village itself has some lovely restaurants and cafes (we especially loved Tod Mountain Cafe) and shops. Both years we managed to book a horse-drawn sleigh ride on Christmas night followed by dinner at Bella Italia restaurant. We also (unfortunately) had reason to use Ski Patrol and the hospital at Kamloops, both of which were staffed by outstanding individuals. We couldn't have asked for better treatment. We'll be staying home this Christmas with family, but we'll be dreaming of a perfect White Christmas like the previous two years!!!
