Sewell's offers a pretty good deal on boat rentals and the scenery you see in Howe Sound will blow anything away that you get around Granville Island. Drive the extra distance and get a truely West Coast experience!

If you want to catch some salmon, make sure you book a trip with Mike Speed - one of the most knowledgeable guides out there! If there are fish in the local waters, he will make sure you catch them.

We took a boat for rent and spent 2 hours driving around islands and enjoying sun, ocean, and fresh air. Also you can experience seals quite close. They have their own small island only 10 min from marina.

If you are looking for a Canadian West Coast experience full of excitement, entertainment, knowledge and FUN, then Sewell's Sea Safari could be for you. It is two hours of breathtakingly spectacular views combined with thrills, fresh air and magnificence. We loved that everything was done for us, except for putting on the floater suits (which they have for all shapes and sizes). All we had to do was sit down, hang on and experience being out on the water. The safety measures, confidence and involvement our skipper (Darryn) gave, not to mention the entertainment we experienced via his knowledge of the local wildlife, was simply stellar. The donuts, figure 8’s and jumping the waves on the wake of one of the local ferries with the power of the engines behind us was so much fun. What a thrilling, captivating and truly exceptional experience. We will do it again and bring our friends and family too!We had a great adventure! YouTube video:http://youtu.be/7qejdmHV15k

Being a quadriplegic and not having any upper body strength, I was a bit hesitant to try the Sea Safari. I been skydiving, hot-air ballooning, dune bashing in the desert, and lots more and am always willing to try thrilling excursions. I am so glad I did. With the help of my friend and Darren, I was tied in to the back seat of the speedboat since it was the least bumpy being at the back. Thanks to Megan, this was one of the best and funnest experiences ever. We got to do donuts in the water, speed down with little bumps and even got to slow down for pictures. I been to 20 countries in the past 6 years and who needs to travel abroad when we have something this exciting to do so close to home. This was a must-do attraction and everyone in the area must try this and support a great local company like Sewell's Marina!

What a perfect day!The day was warm...the sky blue, clear...the water quiet...and there we were racing down Howe sound doing water donuts and 90° turns. When we hit wakes or mild swells it almost felt like class III white water rafting. Not a milquetoast crawling cruise. Although there are numerous stops for sea life, landmarks, ect.You will be wind worn, wear sunglasses! If you desire a quieter, slower experience...try kayaking through the sound.

We live in North Vancouver and for years had wanted to do Sewell's 'Eco Safari', finally did it last weekend. It was terrific. Our guide/boata driver (Darren? Darrell?) was very friendly, boat not crowded, left on time, very fun interesting trip up to Brittania Beach and back, all very on-time and professional. They provide survival suits which on the one hand seem a bit silly but on the other hand the boat goes fast enough that we probably would have frozen to death without them. Anyhow, we'll definitely be doing this again.

Are you in for a treat! Finally had a chance to do the Sea Safari. Have heard about it for years and always wanted to do it. This is the ultimate spoil yourself treat for a local or a visitor to Vancouver. The Howe sound is gorgeous, plenty of wildlife to experience, the boat's captain gives light but interesting nature points and orientates you to your area.. The boats speed and stability is amazing! Felt safe and cosy in our dry suits - even on a hot day! I really appreciated getting out into the sound, seeing the islands from a different perspective. The boat-acrobatics are so much fun. The skipper finds the waves and wakes of other boats and it is like a theme park ride - but they do know their group and can offer tame or wilder rides. I LOVED IT!

Howe Sound north of Vancouver is one of the most scenic spots in the world. But, not when you're zooming by in a RIB driven by captain "Mad Man" Darren. I particularly didn't like his hot-dogging for the girls on the beach at Lions Bay! If you're into wild high-speed 360 degree turns, to the point where you puke, then this is the tour for you. It wasn't for my son and I!

The sailors at the command are the least respectful of the area. They ignore basic rules of navigation. In one outing the boat manage to almost ran over two kayaks, cut another boat against the small island with a lighthouse, and almost capsize a small boat at anchor that was peacefully fishing. they motored at full blast by the islands and rocks where the resident seals bask in the sun sending mothers and cubs in the water. If you do not mind associating with an accident in wait of happening that is fine, if not they are likely better way to enjoy this beautiful area.

I rented a 17' boat from Sewell's. Everything was great, boat was there as reserved. They went over the safety stuff, and general boating instructions, I felt very comfortable. We cruised around for a little over an hour, was a lot of fun. It got a bit choppy at times, but it was easy to see and compensate speed accordingly. Next time I think we'll stay out longer.

It is nice that I am just a short drive from such beautiful scenery. The weather wasn't great for our tour but I think it gave it an authentic BC feeling.Fun and impressive at the same time!
