This Gallery has some of the most unique items that I have everseen. I did purchase a few gifts for Birthdays and Christmas

We called in whilst walking along the lake edge and were surprised to see so much on offer, the jewellery by local crafts persons is of very high quality and we bought a number of pieces for ourselves and as gifts. The owner was most helpful in explaining the origins and symbolism of the work. It also has a very good sahe4ded coffee bar

It is nice to venture into an Art Gallery that has a wide range of art pieces, from a memorable vacation souvenir, be it a modest keepsake or a valued soon to be prized possession. The complementary coffee and available treats encourage a longer linger at some significant items.I have purchased several pieces from the Owner/Artist Errol Brimacombe through the years and enjoy his and other fellow artists works in my home. In addition expert framing services have made some of my other pieces display much better than their original framing. "On the Lake" says it all. Be it a moody grey vista or sunshine filled panorama, it is easy to see inspiration for these Canwest Gallery artists right out the window.

The whole place looked like an art gallery, the lady who worked there was so nice and inviting and cheerful. There are a lot of absolutely gorgeous items to buy, but a bit pricey!!

My wife and i wandered into this gallery during a stay in Harrison. We visited with Maureen and Errol many times over the next few months and eventually purchased 7 of Errol's beautiful framed watercolours for our house. We also purchased a beautiful red & black vase as a gift for a family member. Can West Art is a must see when you go to Mission people. We do recommend it!

Bought a beautiful glass eagle with a salmon and glass humming bird. These were made by a BC artist M. Bateman. The lady that works in the gallery is super friendly. I will visit again when in Harrison.

Canwest Art is a small shop and gallery of fine arts and crafts. It showcases some of Errol Brimacombe's fine paintings (a local artist, based in Chilliwack), plus, various selections of other lovely, and often quite unique, arts and crafts -- including sculptures, carvings, art glass, pottery, jewellery, small crafted gifts, art cards, and the like, and art services -- such as consultations, art restorations, appraisals, and picture framing. The fun part for me, is browsing and shopping, and asking a multitude of questions about 'what, who, how, and where' of many of the pieces on display. The less easy part, is trying to decide on 'the' piece, or pieces that really catch my eye and fancy, more than the many others that seem to be doing much the same!! But the really fun part always comes when back home, opening the packages, and setting up the purchases to admire!! Over the years, purchases for me (at this location, and at the their former Cherish II shop/gallery location), have been a number of raku pottery 'vases and bowls', 'useable' pottery pieces (wine goblets, liqueur 'glasses', dishes, and the like), pewter dishes, glass 'angels', art cards, and the like. And most-recently (via visits made during two recent 'extended' stays in Harrison, in early-September and early-October of this year), some lovely stoneware-pottery mugs and jars (artist, Mud, Sweat & Tears, Sorrento, BC), the jars filled with gourmet honey (from Nicola Valley, Merritt, BC), a delicate art glass bird (artist, Mark Bateman, Victoria, BC), and two, very naturally-looking and unique, porcelain and stoneware pieces resembling small tree stumps, each with a frog (artist, Darrell Perfumo, Mayne Island, BC). I missed seeing Errol & Maureen at their place during these recent stays, but thanks to Ingrid, the 'host' at these times, much-enjoyed the fun talks and stories we shared during my visits. For me, Canwest Art is a must-do place to see and do during our Harrison Hot Springs visits and stays.

The Canwest Art Gallery is truly a wonderful showplace of Canadian arts and crafts with knowledgeable and friendly owners Errol and Maureen, a must see when next you visit Harrison Hot Springs!.....as an added bonus it has a delightful seating spot to relax with a tea, coffee or savour their delicious deserts and gaze at the lake, and natures beautiful vista directly in front of the Gallery.

Tea and scone in a gift shop. The owner is a tea guru, and they have some of the fines tea anywhere in the world! The art in this establishment in truly unique.

I am sorry you did not enjoy your time in Canwest Art- Gallery on the lake . We would just like to clarify, in response to your review that we do indeed feature many local artist, including the artist in residence, Mr. Errol Brimacombe, who's watercolor and oil paintings are featured throughout the gallery. We have 45 artists on board, about half of them live within 100 kms of Harrison. We call that local, as Harrison's permanent population is only 1700 souls, not enough to form a population pool of many "local" artists. Furthermore, we do not have anything in stock such as the reviewer describes as "books with their pages folded into various shapes,", nor have we ever have had such a thing. The only other gallery in town is the Ranger Station, and it does feature local resident's art, but it is very small and is truly a community gallery, rather than a commercial gallery such as ours. I hope this clarifies the matter. Thank you.
