I visited this theatre for the Hozier concert on Feb. 15th, 2015 and it was my first time at this venue. Firstly, it's amazing as soon as you walk through the doors. The entire lobby (which has multiple levels) is covered with red carpet to compliment the decadent architecture throughout. The theatre itself was especially beautiful, which a huge mural on the ceiling and massive chandelier hanging over the audience. The seating wasn't great, pretty uncomfortable and compact; however, the sound is phenomenal (enough to make you forget how sore your bum is getting). Despite sitting at the back, the sounds carried flawlessly. I hope I have another excuse to go back one day!

Tea and trumpets with the VSO is a rare treat to watch for, Thursday afternoon at 2:00pm $40.00 per tickets however rush tickets are only $20.00 each sold after 1:00 before the performance. The Symphony brings tears to my eyes each time I attend, last week no exception. Oh, and the tea and cookies before the performance are a treat. The seniors crowd have taken over the audience but it is wonderful for any age to enjoy in this gorgeous venue.

From the outside it doesn’t look like much. But inside it is very elegantly decorated. When I saw the painted ceiling and the chandelier it reminded me of the movie the Phantom of the Opera. We had a chance to go there for my neice's graduation. We also went there for the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. The acoustics are very good. We enjoyed both of those occasions. The theatre has guided tours in July and August. Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 11 am.Happy Travelling!

A short while ago I went to the Orpheum Theatre for the first time. From outside the building didn’t look spectacular. But the inside is great – really classical architecture! And the sound was good too. I like that venue and can recommend it.

We went to the Orpheum to watch my cousin have her Canadian debut with the VSO. Fantastic concert, great time.

I've seen some incredible performances there. The one that stands out was Chris Botti....ten out of ten. There are no bad seats. I saw G3 there but it is a little too posh for a rock concert.

I'm old enough to remember when the Orpheum was a movie theater. It was renovated in the mid 1970s and returned to it's former glory as a beautiful Beaux Art theater for music and special events. The acoustics are very good and the painted ceiling with huge chandelier and sumptuously decorated walls always make you feel like you are experiencing something very special. And you usually are, whether it's a family graduation or the glorious power of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, the magic of the Vancouver Chamber Choir or something as intimate as a Sonny Rollins solo, this place hosts it all in style.

We visited Vancouver BC, and enjoyed the concert at the Orpheum. A nice variety of Mozart and Berlioz, and what we really liked was the ambiente, the wonderful old school theater, the acoustics there and the extremely good musicians. However the room for the feet is so tiny, that anyone with longer legs or thicker calves has problems fitting them in the room available, especially the first rows in the balcony.

I've been to the Orpheum a dozen times over the years for all kinds of performances - and I always love going here. It doesn't look like much from the outside - but inside it has all the beauty and charm of a distant time when people truly dressed for the theatre and an elegant evening out. That said, the Orpheum also manages to be both warm and a great venue for concerts. I've seen singers, speakers, dancers here - the theatre always embraces them and I think lifts up the performance. One of my favorite places in Vancouver.

This is a beautiful space to sit in. Look around. Historic and gorgeous. Acoustics are phenomenal. Sat in the lower balcony. Heard the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra with Sultans of String- wonderful world music.

If you are visiting or just a local, take in a show and enjoy the beauty and architecture of this heritage theater. Its smaller and more intimate then the QE theatre and brings one back in time to what a theatre should be.

We went for the special - Cirque Musica - and it was AMAZING. Literally the coolest thing I've seen, and heard! Not only was the symphony top notch, but the cirque du soleil performers were out of this world. Literally don't know how they came up with some of their routines. The theatre itself is definitely older, but that's what makes it so unique! The ceiling in the theatre itself is phenomenal, as well as the artwork and detailing. That's a show in itself! They have a few small bars throughout the lobby area as well which is nice for such a small lobby/lobbies.The only problems are the bathrooms always had such a long line. But that's to be expected.

I went to watch Ryan Adams and got a seat in the Orchestra. Staff are very helpful and the interior is excellent. The acoustics were superb and really carried the artists voice well. One thing, the seats are new and are very uncomfortable if you are 6 foot or plus

Watched Ryan Adams at the Orpheum. Very accessible, acoustics great, facilities available. What else can you ask for?

Attended the opening night of the symphony. We were in the balcony which provides an excellent view of the mural in the cupola. It always amuses! As always a huge wait for drinks during intermission but not sure that can be helped.
