Considered by many to be one of the best boardwalk hikes around, you will...

The service and food were both fantastic. They treated my daughter very well and checked up on her often.

I love this beach. The boardwalk trail is a beautiful walk among the trees that ends when you reach the beach which does not have a ton of people on it. If you go at low tide, you can walk across to the island and see lots of seafood / animals. You can also walk far along the beach and around to another beach section. Just be careful to watch it is at low tide or you could get stuck.

Check the tide tables and off you go .... at low tide!! At high tide the rocks are impassable and you may get cut off. Not dangerous, but you'll spend the next 4 hours waiting for the tide to recede as you hang out on the driftwood/in the forest.Lots of nooks and crannies to explore, scramble around in the small island rocks, and find a nook where you can just sit and be alone with the Pacific Ocean.Wear good hiking shoes, or even water shoes with good grip, so you can have a good explore.Take care on the trail as the wooden planks can be very slippy.Again .. remember your tide tables!

LOVED this trail to the cove. Lots of stairs and pathways through the old forest leading down to the cove. It had almost a surreal feel to the walk and we will definitely be doing it again the next time we're in Tofino. :) Our dog loves stairs and had a blast too.

Signs from Hwy 4 point to Schooner Cove and beach. These are within the boundaries of Pacific Rim National Park and user fees are in effect. Each person is required to purchase a park pass, this includes parking in the park from the day of purchase until 4:00PM the following day. The trail is only 1 Km in length, but is not suggested for anyone who cannot handle stairs; there are 330 steps from the car park to the beach ... and 330 on your way back. If nothing else, it is a good leg workout! The trail is almost entirely boardwalk threading through the rainforest, and very easy walking ... apart from the steps. The beach and cove are beautiful, but can also be accessed by a much easier route from Long Beach.

A wonderful beach to wander and explore. Wide sand and a horizon that 'goes all the way to Japan' provide a gorgeous backdrop for photos and movies. The day we went was a little chilly and portions of the boardwalk were covered with very slippery ice so caution was required.Tip: Be aware of the tides or you may find yourself climbing over rocks and trees to get back to the trail entrance.

We went there as part of our trip to Banff, Jasper, and Vancouver Island. We must have hiked more than 10 trails altogether (including the Plain of Six Glaciers) and I felt the Schooner Cove Trail was the best. It was amazing that the trail lead you from an ancient rain forest to a vast and peaceful ocean after just a half an hour of easy walk. Be sure to check for low tide times at the Visitor Centre (at the section before you turn right into Tofino). Don't miss this if you are in the area!

After walking about a kilometre and a bit through a lush forest. On a boardwalk. You arrive at a stunning piece of the coast. Filled with driftwood ocean floaties and a beautiful walk up and down schooner cove. One of my favourite places on the Island.

With young children it is difficult to really hike and your the rainforest knowing you may end up carrying them for miles. This hike is 1.2 km and the trail is constructed using wooden boardwalks. The beach itself is amazing regardless of tide and there is sources to see. Words of advice Bring water and toilet paper there is no washroom by the beach and you little ones might need it In case of emergency there is a road way located in First Nations next to the beach. And you can walk Along beach to incinerator rock parking lot. A great place for an adventure jelly ish, crabs, clams, mussels and scallop shells are all along the beach to see.

The Schooner located in the heart of Tofino is one of the best restaurants in the area for general dining. The menu is eclectic with emphasis on seafood. We have ordered primarily seafood and found all our meals very well prepared. The service is friendly and prompt but not hurried. We have dined here over many years and have always found it a wonderful place to eat well in a relaxed atmosphere in keeping with the general tone of Tofino.

Schooner Cove requires a Parking permit or fee and is a one kilometre walk, mostly on board walk through the coastal forest with a fair amount of steps down and up along the way. The effort is well rewarded with a gorgeous beach, islands, great views and not many people for the most part. We have been going for years and never tire of it.

Lovely food in a great locationin the centre of Tofino. All freshly cooked and good service. You should book if it is mid season to ensure you get a seat as it can get packed.

An easy 2km round trip on boardwalk out to the cove. Whilst some of the walk was a little slippery, it was lovely with some great photo opportunities. It does have steps...at least 150... But they are well spaced and quite comfortable. It was a misty day which provided for some great photos at the end. Would recommend this walk.

We were recommended to visit Schooner cove by the owner of TOF bicycle where we rented our bike cruisers for a few days. We rode our bike 15 km to get the the cove but it was well worth it! You start out by doing the tree trail wich is absolutely beautiful! The trail is about 2 km ans it comes out directly on Longbeach! It is just amazing! I recommand walking to the little island and walking around. You will see a breath taking scenery ! A must if you're in Tofino!
