Myrna90
Hello Myrna90-Thanks for your review! It's always a pleasure to hear when people enjoy their time here at Heritage Park. We agree that trying our gingerbread is a must-do! Sorry to hear that you aren't a fan of the new expansion. We believe that the Heritage Town Square represents an authentic prairie urban streetscape from the 1930s-50s and is a great free experience for guests, but we understand that everyone enjoys something different when they visit us. We look forward to your next visit.Best wishes,The Marketing Team,Heritage Park Historical Village

Nakodo
Hi Nakodo,We're pleased that you seem to have enjoyed the wide range of dining options available here at the Park. We're quite proud of the variety offered here for our guests.Although the Antique Midway looks like it could be from the 1960's - it's rides actually date from the early 1900s to 1920s! Thanks very much for your visit and review! We look forward to you visiting us again,The Marketing Team,Heritage Park Historical Village

There is so much to see here, you'll definitely want to arrive as close to opening as possible. There won't be any shortage of activities, it's a fantastic way to spend a beautiful day. Following gate admission, there are additional costs involved including the vintage rides, the bakery, or the ice cream parlour. All of the replica buildings & landmarks that played key roles on Alberta's history are well done and well maintained. You can ride the train and the ss Moyie. This is an incredible place to spend a summer day.

We were pleasantly surprised at the amount of places to see. From a car museum to a old train that takes you around the site. We visited old homes beautifully restored with great staff to explain the history of the home and occupants. Highly recommend Heritage Park.

if you're travelling to Calgary, especially with family this is a wonderful place to spend a few hours winter and summer. Heritage Park (HP) is set up as a what most people would call a theme village except that the buildings are not recreations of times gone by but the real thing. All the buildings are real and have been brought there from various parts of Alberta. And the neat thing for kids and adults alike is that it is very interactive. You can ride on a an old steam engine, take a cruise on a real River boat around Glenmore Reservoir, watch as blacksmiths bang out horse shoes. There is also an authentic carousel that the kids will love to ride on. And when you get hungry you can stop in at the working heritage hotel and have lunch or dinner. At Christmas time you can pet real live raindeer and take a sleigh ride on a horse drawn wagon. If your lucky enough someone, like my son, will start singing Christmas carols and get everyone in the Christmas spirit. If you are a car enthusiast there is an exceptional antique car museum filled with vintage cars and gas pumps in pristine condition. ( it's also a great place just to sit and gaze). All in all it is a wonderful, fun filled excursion. Many locals, like my son and wife, have season passes. Their kids and grandma and grandpa, (me) , love to spend time there. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

I would put Heritage park at the top when it comes to tourist attractions. If you go early or late in the day it's not so crowded. It takes you back to another time. You can wonder around out in the far reaches of the park, where it feels as though you have the place all to your self. Even though I live in Calgary I still go to the park once a year. The trains they have on display are excellent. If you are lucky enough to be there when they are doing a guided tour you will be in for a real treat.

Big and interactive. Farming, trains, boats, wide open spaces what's not to like?Possibly my favorite "family" outing in town.

Very rewarding review of our Alberta heritage and enjoyable for all ages. Able to share with grandchildren our own personal history of this great province and country. Go many times a year for special events and find something new on every visit

Enjoy the vast history of authentic Alberta a sites, Beautiful homes of the turn of the century and all in the preserved period. Included an amusement park, firsts in Alberta ie double decker outhouse. I recommend highly as a point of great interest to all who visit.

This attraction takes you back to a taste of pioneer life in Alberta's early history. It is fun for all ages and informative too. You can ride on a real steam train and a paddle boat in summer. The old fashioned bakery and candy store are among my favourites. Horse drawn cart rides are also a great way to get an overview of the park. Easy to spend several hours here.
