Looking for an interesting detour off Canada Hwy 138 on your way to Sept Iles? Take a right turn on Chemin du Vieux Phare and cross a sturdy wooden bridge to Pointe des Monts Lighthouse. Scenic location on a granite rock island. Enjoyable tour of the lighthouse keepers quarters. Interesting historical displays and loads of history. I agree with previous lighthouse residents Paul Peuliot and the Montagnais- it gave me the heebie jeebies.
