Granted i went skiing on the coldest day (-35) bu the staff i encountered all made me feel unwelcome. From the guy inside selling tickets to all the lift guys. I almost understood their crankiness as there were so few of us out that day.A nice small resort close to ottawa. Good variety of hills.Sadly the staff made the experience less than stellar. Not aure id rush back.

My 3 and 7 year old enjoyed this waterpark and the variety of slides it had to offer. It isn't a huge waterpark, but at the same time it is much more reasonable (especially with Costco discount tickets).My 7 year old could do most of the rides on her own and my 3 year was able to do many with one of the adults in tow.My 3 year old really enjoyed the large kids splash area that included some fairly decent waterslides geared towards younger children.We found the "Change Area" to be a little unusual. It is located at the top of the ski chalet and really appears to be the change area for skiers. As such there are now showers and the washroom with mirrors are across the room.

I think this is a good deal for people who live in the area but after travelling 3 hours, we were a little disappointed. Our 9 year old did not have very many options due to height restrictions (too tall for some activities). The day we went, the lineups were anywhere between 20-45 minutes (really, not making this up).Pros: inexpensive for those who can get a season pass and go oftencan bring in your own food and beverages, plus chairslockersfree parkingCons: food and drinks very expensive, example 2 bottles of water and 1 small slushie was $8.40. Long line ups and you have to line up twice; once for getting your inner tube or carpet and then back into the line for the rideeverything is concentrated at the base of the ski hill so not a lot of room for extra chairs, etcWould not go again. Probably a better ski facility than a water park.

Situated in the beautiful Gatineau Hills (kind of cool being at a waterpark surrounded by ski hills and chair lifts!), Mont Cascades is a really fun waterpark for all ages! The newer Splash Forest area is a small zone for the younger children with two short slides (no line ups) with an enormous bucket of water that comes crashing down every few minutes! The larger slides are exhilarating and great for kids of a certain height and adults alike. The new-ish Tornado Alley was one of the best ones we've ever been on. The new pavement is smooth and easy on the feet, but be prepared for climbing (of course), longer line ups in the afternoon (so get there when they open), and some uneven, narrow paths that are quick worn and slightly rocky and hard on the feet in some of the older areas. The staff were friendly for the most part but not very enthusiastic. As a safety freak, I was always paying attention to their methods and safety protocols, and they seemed on top of things, but not as attentive as other parks I've been to (Great Wolf Lodges for example). We enjoyed the shaded umbrellas and pavilions and the fact that we could bring in our own food/drinks/cooler. Free parking and in and out privileges to go out to the car for the cooler were a bonus. The ice cream hut had over-priced ice cream. The change rooms and toilets in the main lodge were extremely hot and stuffy and the washrooms need a good cleaning. Overall, worth the price of admission. It's a good size and therefore not too overwhelming. Lots of fun!!

I go to Mont Cascades a couple of times a year with the kids and it is so worth it, especially compared to 'that other' water park near Ottawa... Hey - less than $20 per person compared to $40+ per person, and the line ups are rarely more than 10-15 minutes (at the absolute most - often there are virtually no line ups!) - spells "Deal" to me!!!!!

Who and when: Me, husband, 17 month old son, 3 1/2 year old son. We went on a Saturday and got there when the park opened at around 10am. We were able to get a shaded picnic table.Cost: $39/ per person (season pass) for me, hubs and 3 year old. Free for my 17 month old (under two). That is very reasonable in my opinion. Parking is free. The food is all really overpriced- for example a small lollipop in gift shop was $1.75. You are allowed to bring a cooler in with food, water, soft drinks etc. (no alcohol). So, it's easy to avoid the overpriced concessions. Attraction: It is not a huge water park. For my toddlers, it was sufficient. There is a wadding pool with a couple small slides that I my 17 month old enjoyed. There are 2 somewhat taller slides in kiddie section that are good for my 3 year old. There are larger slides as well for somewhat older kids and adults, but not as numerous as that "other big local water park".Staff: We had an incident where a child (not ours) climbing over side of a slide and almost fell 10 feet on to the ground. I slid (with my 3 y/o) into this child as I did not know he was climbing up slide wrong way. When I tried to get my son off slide another child slid into me and knocked me and my 3 y/o over. There was NO staff managing the two taller watersides in kids section. We told staff, they were indifferent and brushed us off.In summary, the season pass is very reasonably priced and parking is free. If you are willing to get there when they open, you can get a shaded picnic spot. You are allowed to bring a cooler with your own refreshments. Pretty good kids section with disinterested staff. Good economical fun for young families. Thrill seekers might prefer other local big water park.

The line-ups were short or non existent. We had a group of 10 10 year olds. We were able to situate ourselves to see the entire park. The children went off independently and moms enjoyed the mountain air and scenery .

Mont cascades is a perfect option for a family day at the waterpark. Way more reasonably priced than the bigger parks.You can get passes through Costco in Ottawa as well

This water park seemed like it was ran by Zombies. The kids working there seemed like they had no energy, no emotion and no sense of work ethic. I don't know how these employees were trained. If their managers told them "go out there and do nothing" then they are doing a great job, because that is exactly what they did.One slide attendant was apparently too busy eating Dunkaroo's to give the "okay" to the next set of people going down the slides. The rest did not feel like helping anyone pull their tubes out of the pool. It was sad to see three small children try to tug the giant tube out of the water on their own.Another attendant left the slide right before my turn came. I had no instruction as to how to properly go down the slide or when it was safe to do so. If there was a small child up next and went too soon, that could have resulted in an injury or something more serious.Well, thanks to Mont Cascade I was able to spend my day at the Zombie Park feeling unsafe, without a single smile or any assistance when most needed. It was a great day!

We went on the only sunny day one rainy week in the summer and the waterpark was packed with people! We were lucky to find a place in the shade even though we arrived shortly after lunch but for a full day outing something to shade the children from the sun would have been useful (like a small tent/umbrella). We were happy to find that the line-ups for the slides for small children were quite short. The slides and kiddie pools were a big hit with the kids.One thing to note is that parking was scarce and we ended up parking a fair distance away (we used our stroller to transport the baby which worked out quite well).I appreciated that there was a nice indoor change area (although it would benefit from some better lighting in the actual change cabins which were very dark when you pulled the curtain) and that there was a small shop where we could buy some baby swim diapers (we had forgotten ours at home).For the price ($16.99 per person but we managed to get tickets for $12.49 at Costco) this was a fairly affordable family outing as we could easily have stayed the whole day . It's possible to buy food at the park itself but there are also lots of picnic tables and many people had coolers with them so self-picnicking is quite possible.Despite the crowds, the park area was clean and well maintained.

We decided to go to Mount Cascade yesterday for the first time.We wish we had not waited so long to go! We have been to Calypso and Wonderlands water park but our visit to Mount Cascade was much more fun.We got there around 11:30 the parking lot is under construction and was already pretty full so we had to park pretty far away so I would suggest dropping of your kids (and a parent) at the front with your cooler. Get in have no problem getting a spot we brought our own umbrella so we could sit away from the busy shaded spots. The park was fairly busy but the lines were not too bad. It is a older park but in decent shape it might not have all the rides calypso has but it was still lots of fun and very affordable. I do suggest packing your own lunch as the cafeterias food wasn't great and a little pricy. The staff were very friendly and doing a great job keeping things running smoothly. The one thing that shocked me was the amount of 8, 9 and 10 year olds running around the kids area and having no regard for the little kids. A few times my 3 year old was pushed and hit and when I very politely said something to the kids they didn't care. Not too long after the lifeguard stepped in and said something as it continued to happen to other kids. Overall we had a great experience and we will be buying season passes next year!

Just got back from this place. It's really nice. While there aren't a whole ton of rides, they have the main popular ones.We left early in the morning and made it there for opening at 10am. It wasn't too busy, wait time to go on most rides was less than 4-5min (and on some, no wait whatsoever). As the day progressed, it got much busier. By around 1 is when it started peaking I feel and wait time for popular rides was maybe closer to 15min.This was my first visit at Mont Cascades and while I enjoyed the rides, there are a few key things I would suggest to others planning to visit.First and I think most important, bring some of those water shoes (the ones that secure to your feet). Walking bare feet on the asphalt became unbearable by around 1:30 (when we decided to leave because of this). There's a lot of walking up hills to get to the rides, and going bare feet, I ended up with a few blisters. I honestly think this is a MUST, and next time we visit I'll be getting the family some.Second, try to leave all your expensive belongings (electronics, wallet, sunglasses) at home or in your car hidden. There is staff in the parking lots directing people, so I doubt there are break ins. The reason I suggest this is because while they do have lockers, it costs 2 dollars to lock your stuff away and you can't reopen that locker without having to pay another 2 dollars (kind of a scam if you ask me). So what I'd suggest is maybe carry a credit card in a pocket that can be zipped up, leave the rest at home or in the car. A lot of people will bring a cooler (no alcohol can be brought in, they will check as you come in and any alcohol will be left with the attendant with your name tagged on it, so you can pick it up when you leave) and towels with them to the picnic tables and lay claim to a table, and everyone seems to respect that so you can just leave that stuff at your table while you enjoy the park.The water park is pretty inexpensive compared to most (16.99$ each regardless of age) and doesn't seem as much of a money grab as Calypso. Parking is free and plentiful here. I would definitely recommend for a fun day with the kids of a significant other (there are lots of rides for 2 to 5 people).

Very inexpensive, not far at all to drive from Ottawa, and great for kids. Good water slides for kids, from little ones to medium ones to big ones, it's pretty busy but much less than Calypso.

Hadn't been to Mont Cascades for 25-30 years (still a great place for younger kids). While Mont Cascades is showing its age and is in desperate need of renovations/updates, we did end up having a wonderful day. Can't go wrong with the price -- free parking and cheap entrance fee. While some work was being done in the parking area, work is also required throughout. Some thoughts on the downfalls ... 1) not enough changing rooms / washrooms (inconveniently located) ... quite a climb up the stairs and no ventilation whatsoever, 2) went to use the washroom outside (go-hut) there was no toilet paper, no hand-wipes and the smell was deadly, 3) while there were a lot of picnic tables available on the grounds, there was ONLY seven (yes 7) umbrellas throughout. Sitting in the sun at 30 degrees for lunch and down-time (relaxing) is not acceptable for a water park (changes must definitely be made in that area). Not taking away from Mont Cascades and while other water parks are more expensive (ex. Calypso in Limoge), if planning for a full day, it's all worth it. Very thrilling for teenagers and more than convenient for grown-ups/grand-parents (those "young at heart"). Besides the hefty price (parking/entrance) the only downfall at Calypso are the long line-ups at the slides. It has all the convenience (roomy washrooms/change areas, very clean and one umbrella per 3-4 tables). One has to have been there at least once to really appreciate it.

A quiet waterpark, in the hills. Lovely setting. Older park that needs updating here and there. Picnic tables were falling apart, paint was worn at places. Spent time with a child under 10 and there was enough for her to feel entertained. Great place for small children - wading areas, small - medium slides, waterfalls. Affordable entertainment on a hot summer's day.
