A gem of a public course. Overall condition is very good with lots of fun and interesting holes.Dramatic elevation changes, elevated greens and elevated tee boxes.Cart paths all newly paved and lots of finishing touches.Nice club facility and four of us all thought the food was great.Best wings ever.Visiting from BC.

Le Sorcier Golf Club is only a 15 minute drive from Ottawa. Built 10 years ago, Canada’s SCOREGolf magazine currently ranks Le Sorcier #4 in their top 10 public golf clubs in Quebec and #3 in the top 5 most beautiful courses. Since the current owner took over in October 2011 they have renovated the clubhouse, paved all the cart paths, replaced most of the equipment and added 100 new power carts. It is now a semi-private course with guest fees of $75CAD. This is definitely not a walking course since it is way too far to walk from green to tee but the good thing is the power cart are included in your green fees. There are lots of elevations changes and the layout is tucked into a maple syrup producing forest. The forward tees avoid forced carries making it fair for all calibers of golfers. The one thing I noticed was that all par 3’s are downhill and all par 4’s have elevated greens. My only complaint is that the 3rd fairway was water logged because a river runs through this lowland area. They have however have assured me that is will be rectified in the very near future.

This 18-hole Golf Course is by far, my preferred public golf in the area. It is located at approximately 40-45 minutes from Gatineau (Hull). We had played last year and this year, there were a few changes to improve the site: the paths are all paved… that’s a good thing, particularly with the slopes; they have created a Rock Garden… very impressive, and you will also notice a white swan (hole number 11) and two black Swans: hole number 15 if I remember. Unfortunately, I didn’t see them but our friend did. Of course, you need to be very careful and watch for them during your play. The course if quite challengeable: bunkers in some areas, slopes in others, water here and there… everything to increase your performance! However, you will love it. I am not an extremely good player and I still find a way to enjoy myself on this challenging course, a par 71 from the Red tee-offs (women). The landscape is simply beautiful, and the fairways and greens are extremely well maintained. The price is not a cheap (we paid 45$ each, in addition to our Golf Xtra subscription), but it’s definitely a course you would want to play back. The cart is also included in the pricing, as the course is not walkable. Week-ends are very busy so if you can play during the week, I recommend it, unless you decide to play after 1:00 p.m. I also recommend you to check for the tee-off times online at www.chronogolf.ca . We played our round on a Saturday at 12:45, in 4 hours and 15 minutes. This is pretty good considering that, at some point, we had to wait for people in front of us. If you are playing only two, they may also create a foursome with other people. That’s what we did and we really enjoyed our game.

The setting of this course is absolutely spectacular. The work that has been put into to upgrading this course, especially the cart paths which are now paved, is great considering that many of the access paths to the tee offs are uphill. I very much enjoyed my experience and would highly recommend choosing Le Sorcier if you are visiting the Gatineau area.

Course is in poorer condition compared to other years...fairways did not survive the winter well. Be careful with pro shop staff trying to scam extra money from you for green fees. Our foursome arrived at different times and they tried it with each person in our group!...forgot that there are lower fees after 2 pm and tried to cover it up with " Oh...we forgot what time it was "...and " our cash register does not automatically switch over"Cart paths are paved which is a nice touch...new electric carts which is good and the club house is one of the nicest ones around. Food is great in the restaurant...hope this helps..

I have always enjoyed Le Sorcier however, this year, the conditions are not very good. The fairways are spotty and the greens are in really bad shape!! The ball does not roll true on the greens this year. I am not sure if it is due to winter damage but, I was not impressed.Overall though, this is one of the most picturesque and beautiful courses in the area. Very challenging and still a lot of fun.

I've been golfing at Le Sorcier over the years since it first opened. At first I really didn't like the layout because of many blind shots and par 3's that all looked the same from elevated tees. But slowly I am appreciating it as a very scenic course, that is now very well kept, managed and run. This is a shot placement course, where length is not always a premium, but placement is (I can only use a driver on 2 holes on the front 9 for example). The back 9 opens up more and allows for longer tee shots. Greens are in great condition.New ownership has made great improvements in the last 2 years to both the course maintenance, staff and facilities (restaurant bar).Very hilly up and down course with many unique and challenging holes. Definitely a challenge for a first timer who hasn't played here before, requires local or course knowledge to do well here.Bravo to the new ownership for their improvements.Picturesque and challenging course with an interesting layout.Starting to finally like it after many years.

I would certainly recommend this course to anyone interested in a challenging game of golf. My advice is to take a cart, a long walk between holes.
