    这处有里历史的区域,最适合踏青特别是寒冬过后的春天,叶子是嫩绿的,感觉大地醒过来了.夏天的时候,来这里骑脚踏车,跑步,野餐,晒太阳,享受这片水乡.

Always something to do, you are looking at over 800km of bike paths. The Lachine Canal is over 100 years old so you are breathing history. Organize a kayaking with friends, bring your own Rollerblades- or rent bikes. Watch the fireworks, Or walk along the waters. Come to Montreal and experience the our city..

Perfect spot for a long walk between lovers, family, friends or even alone! In the summer time, I like to come here for biking by renting a Bixi bike nearby. In the colder time of the year, long walks are great with the view of the canal, architectural landscapes from new condominium buildings around and of course, the Atwater market and Old Port not too far away.

Montrealer cyclists and trekkers like the rural feel of this pathway through history. Old canal-side buildings and factories add a poignancy to your walk.

Nice spot from where I was seeing it in town. You can exercise along it, take some pictures. Its a outdoor site, thats it.

Lachine canal is integral to the history of Montreal and should be seen for history buffs. It's a short walk from the Archaeology Museum.Green spaces are being developed along its banks and will be a more welcoming place once complete.

I really enjoyed my two times visiting Lachine Canal. The first was as part of a cycling tour through Ca Roule Montreal on a glorious sunny morning and the second time was by myself on foot on an overcast morning after visiting Atwater Market. I walked from Atwater Market back to Old Montreal Port. The amount of bi-lingual information signage was impressive and it was fascinating comparing the current usage of the buildings after their refurbishment to their old industrial history - often illustrated by historic photographs and text. It was also very interesting looking at the lock and the smaller vessels using the lock. Highly recommended.

It was after high season so most "things" were closed. But hte canal is a great place to visit. The display boards were sufficient, and it is a lovely part of the Island to explore on foot.I would recommend visitors to the canal to also visit the Lachine Museum and the Park des rapides accessible from the Canal at Lachine by Bus.

There's nothing that can't beat a morning run on the Canal! You feel like you're not downtown anymore, it's really refreshing! Perfect to clear up my mind :)

We rented bikes near the port and rode for 4 hours on terrific, continuous, mostly flat bike lanes to the islands and along the canal to the Atwater outdoor market for lunch. Awesome!

My husband and I hadn't bicycled for many years so we were a little nervous to start. But the afternoon was delightful and while very tiring for us older folks, it was a huge hit! We rented bikes from the shop across from the docks and it cost $69 for two bikes for the afternoon (12 - 6 pm). The bikes were in great shape and easy to operate. The path itself is wide and although it is also used by some walkers/runners, at this time of year it was often empty. Generally it is flat with occasional short up/down sections around the roads. Part of the normal route was closed due to work but the detour was also on a bike path (on the other side of the canal) and if you paid attention, easy to follow. The canal is beautiful, lined with trees and in parts, nice residential areas. The park at the end has a modern art sculpture exhibit and lovely views over the river. Three quarters of the way down we got water and snacks from a store across the street and an ice cream shop was open at the park - Yeh! We never saw the Atwater market probably due to the detour - we'll have to do it again next year.

We were able to take our 26' Bertram through the canal enroute to the Montreal Yacht Club. it was a delightful experience, with capable lock attendants all along the way. Timing was an issue for us, so they made sure we got locked through. Scenic, historic, quiet.

Many of us use the bike path along the Lachine Canal for after-work exercise, to transport our $80 basket of free-range blueberries back from the Atwater market or to walk our dogs. One thing is for sure – the path is shared: by families, weirdos, rabid squirrels, cyclists, rollerbladers, skateboarders and, yes, even civic tourists from the city’s, er, more northern districts looking for a taste of southwest realness (I’m looking at you, Mile End).
