One of the best modern cathedrals we have found- the pierced tower is particularly interesting, and the views are lovely. Take a walk around the gardens- they are so nice.

This cathedral is hard to miss and is a really cool way to spend a morning and get some pictures. It's not worth going too far out of your way to see but if you happen to find yourself in Nelson then definitely go.

The inside looks much better than the outside. Relaxing cool place to be. Very unusual organ situated the opposite side from the manual. Must be curious playing such a beast with the sound coming across the aisle. Sadly not being played when I was there. Had a lovely conversation with one of the clergy.

Hard to miss, this cathedral has old world charm rarely found today. It was very enjoyable to walk throughout the cathedral and view the intricate craftsmanship and care this building has received. We were blessed as the organist was practising at the time. We gratefully made a donation to assist in the upkeep of this amazing building.

Prominent on Church Hill, this building of mixed architectural styles overlooks the city. Lovely stained glass both modern and earlier, fascinating historic plaques and a fine, uniquely placed pipe organ.

Nothing special about this cathedral, its on a hill over the center city of Nelson. was a perfect sunny day seeing the sites, there was an organ recital going on at the time of my visit.

Great history and wonderful architecture. Free access and beautiful grounds. Lovely setting in the center of town.

This town was destroyed four years ago in the earthquake and nothing has been done since, they haven't even finished the demo work... It is a big car park, there is no reason to come here other than the airport. the people are fantastic but there is no city center, the cathedral is in ruins.

Stained glass is so pretty, the cathedral is a beautiful place to visit set in pretty foliage and flowered park, nice to walk aroundHas a lovely feel to it.

I loved reading about the history of the church and that location. The stained glass windows are beautiful. It was nice to see a church with history, but it was also clear that the congregation is very much still active there today.

+/- 150 years old which makes this cathedral old in NZ terms. We had a fascinating potted history from the volunteer in charge of the cathedral, which really added to the interest. Worth climbing up the stairs, to be able to walk around the gardens, enjoy the peace and the views.
