Lost Spring is a nice place with some really cool features. There are a few pools to choose from but no information on any of them to tell you which pool you're at and what the temperatures are. The map that you are given on arrival makes the spa look much bigger than it actually is. The pools were clean and the staff were friendly. The cocktails were over priced for the little alcohol content that you get and the day pass is not really worth the money. 1-1.5 hours is more than enough time to relax and get around all of the pools before turning into a prune.

We were a group of 11 ranging in ages from 15 to 78. At first we were a little shocked that the spa was in the middle of a residential neighborhood; we drove past it the first time! The entrance looks almost like shrunken gates from Jurassic park. The check in staff was very pleasant, and check in took no time at all. Be warned you need to book spa treatments well ahead of your visit. They offer towels and robes for rent, unless it is cool out the robes are too warm to wear around. Also bring your own towel and save a few dollars. The grounds are man made but very pretty the water was beautiful and varied in temperature depending upon which pool your were in. There was plenty of space, that is until a school trip stopped in, but lucky for us we were at the end of our stay by that time. The café food was very good, border line excellent for café cuisine that we had elsewhere in New Zealand, great grilled foods and salads. We had a few mix ups with orders and our food was delayed, but no complaints once it arrived. Also, the Lost Spring was short handed the day we were there, but all staff, to include I believe the owner, made every effort to see to our needs. With eleven of us we were constantly ordering cocktails and beers and they did a great job keeping our cups filled. All of us were overjoyed for a long “relaxing” day at the Lost Spring Spa.

Loved everything about it. Cocktails in a hot springs are a marriage made in heaven. Food was also excellent.

My friends and I spent a totally relaxing day at the spa. We were lucky enough to meet the owner Alan and his passion and vision for the spa has totally paid off. The therapists were wonderfully good at their job and I would recommend a visit ASAP!

Was an amazing place can't wait to go back. Staff were very friendly and professional and owner walked us around explaining pools. A special place for relaxing and being pampered.

Myself and 9 girlfriends planned a weekend away to visit The Lost Spring . From the moment we arrived we knew this was something special . The Staff ,The Food ,The Spa ,The cocktails ,The owner Allan made our day the most wonderful experience to share with my friends. Allan your vision and your passion has truly made it a fantastic place to share with your loved ones and friends. We stayed all day till 4 pm and then was told by the lovely staff that we could still come back for the evening and see the place lit up, we did and it was totally magical .7 of us girlies visited the Spa Wow I had a Dreamy delight fantastic from beginning to end. From couples to friends or family you will love this tranquil tropical resort . Also I don't think 1 hour is enough unless you only swim and don't want to experience all the Spring has to offer. We will be back.

If you are staying in the area and have a few hours to spare I would recommend The Lost Spring. Very relaxing and lovely drinks. We did 1.5 hours and that was enough, I think we might have struggled if we'd paid for an all day pass, unless it was part of a spa day. I imagine it would be a great place to go to on a hen do or as a girls day out.

After going on a boat tour we were recommended this place by the boat skipper. For mentioning his name we got a 10% discount and an extra half hour. It's a little pricey for what it is but SO worth it!!! The pools are all done up to make you feel like you are in a tropical resort and you really do! The bar staff are really friendly and helpful as are the girls on reception. And the cocktails are AMAZING!!! I would definitely recommend this to anyone! Soooo good!!!!

Finally went to this hot spring after visiting Whitianga many times. Wish I had gone here sooner. After a busy week of lots of driving and hiking it was great to be able to sit back and relax in these tranquil hot pools. The staff were super friendly and made you feel at home, the pools were clean and very picturesque. One hour is plenty of time in the pools and the Pina Colodas were great. If you do want a massage you will need to book in advance as we didn't so missed out.

Neat pools with native bush and fantails flying around you, was like being in a resort. Shame the drinks guy didn't come to the pools to take orders, as he would have got an extra drink out of us. Was also a tad pricey. Glad we went, but too expensive to go again

Great swim and bathe at The Lost Spring. Beautiful grounds which aided the relaxation so you completely forgot where you were.Only suggestion would be to have a few more showers available in the Ladies change rooms. It didn't seem overly busy when we were there, but the showers were constantly full.Otherwise a highly enjoyable experience!

Had a pretty nice time here last Thursday, the staff were friendly and the pools and gardens were lovely. But couldn't help feeling it's a little bit overpriced for what it is...and although it's nice to be able to drink a cocktail in the pool, $15 for a pre mixed cocktail that contains only 30ml of alcohol?? And love the luxurious decor of the main entrance and cafe, but felt the mens bathroom could be alot nicer - water on the floor, only one shower, harsh fluorescent lighting. Overall though, it's a nice place...just feel it could be a little bit better.

We always go to the Hot Springs when we go to the Coromandel. This must be about our fourth or fifth visit. It's great for a rainy day. It's not the cheapest experience - we only go for a few hours, but it's always nice with one exception which I will talk about later. The pools have a lovely garden setting. We started in the main pool where our one problem occurred. This was a squad of mosquitoes who descended on my wife's neck for only a few seconds but inflicted about nine really savage bites. We moved rapidly away from this area and eventually went up to the hot pool area at the top, where there were no insects of any kind. The facilities are clean and very pleasant. Afterwards we had an excellent meal which was really good value. The platter is excellent and the service superb. The drinks are also reasonably priced - I definitely had the feeling that we were being well treated and not exploited as a captive marker. It was a slow day but the staff attitude was great. To cap it all off we met the owner who showed up his great collection of surfing photos and movie posters. If it hadn't been for the murderous mozzies we would definitely have given a five. We did mention the mozzies to the staff and they said that action was under way to get rid of them. I hope the feedback to this review says that they been sprayed into oblivion.
