Went on the trip on Tuesday 3/3/15. Booked not knowing what expect. What we got - the owner Shane - a font of all local knowledge which he shared frequently on the trip. The main part of the trip onto the sands at Goolwa for the 12km trip to the Murray Mouth - bumpy, exhilarating with fantastic views of the Southern Ocean all the way.A bit of cockle fishing on the way and then a bit of fishing if you want to at the Murray Mouth.Great trip not to be missed and one of the attractions Shane mentioned on the trip - Horseshoe Bay - we visited the next day brilliant - we probably would not have gone had it not been mentioned.

Fantastic afternoon. Great for all ages. Shane was very knowledgeable. He even allowed us to take our very well behaved dog with us. It was very good value for money. Wouk definitely recommend it as a must do.

We were visiting the coorong and were undecided on what trip to do and the helpful staff at Goolwa visitor centre recommended Shane's Murray mouth tours as a great experience, and we are so glad they did. A fantastic new business, which we always like to support and shane is just great. Really friendly guy who looks after you well and has great knowledge of the area. The tour was great fun, informative and the views were amazing along the beach and at the mouth. Little touches like a free drink when you get to the mouth and fishing rods to have a go ion were a good idea. Would highly recommend and a great way to support the local area and its businesses and to see the mouth at a reasonable price. Thanks for a great day Shane!

Shane picked 15 of us up in Port Elliot in an amazing vehicle and gave informative detail of the history of the area from Aboriginal times until now on the drive to Goolwa. Stopped at Goolwa beach to reduce tire pressure then off down to Murray Mouth, bouncing a little in places on soft and loose sand. We stopped for cockling partway, then off to the mouth where we spent a couple of hours swimming, fishing and playing beach cricket. Then a barbecue and drinks, which were well received. Then a drive back into the beautiful setting sun. A great experience.

We organised a special birthday trip and filled the bus we 15 family and friends. Shane was super accommodating with the arrangements, even organising soft drinks and a BBQ for our sausages. We had kept the trip a secret, so when the big red bus picked us up from our home everyone was delighted, especially the kids!On our way to Goolwa Shane provided a commentary on local history, and even as long time locals we learnt a few new facts from his informative style. Then after a short stop at the Goolwa beach car park, while the bus tyres were deflated, we had the opportunity to climb the lookout for a terrific 360 degree view of the town and a bit of exercise. The trip along the beach to the Mouth is about 12 km so we had plenty of time to enjoy the views and the novelty of driving on the sand. A stop about halfway for a cockling lesson was good fun, and allowed the smaller kids to get wet in the waves.Once we reached the mouth Shane parked the bus close to the water and set up chairs and the BBQ. Whilst the meat was cooking we were given a fishing lesson using our freshly caught cockles as bait. Due to the tides no fish were caught, but Shane assured us that salmon trout are usually biting at this time of night. A playful sea lion swimming nearby came to say hello - we think he must have eaten our fish!Swimming, beach cricket and just generally enjoying the spectacular location - clean white sand, the Coorong dunes in the distance, glassy water at the mouth and ocean breakers nearby. The low hum of the dredges didn't disturb us, in fact at the change of shift the workers coming in by dingy were very friendly! After a 39 degree day the breeze was cooling and the sunset was spectacular through thunder clouds and a rolling ocean fog. By the time we were home it was dark, and everyone had had an unforgettable and magical experience!Well done Shane, you have a wonderful world class tourism product on offer here. A unique experience for visitors and locals alike. Congratulations!

Had an awesome trip down the Goolwa Beach today with Shane from Murray Mouth Tours, he's a local bloke, establishing a local tour business which is just what the local area needs, very capable vehicle, and a very capable operator, and you have the peace of mind that you are being driven around by a qualified driving instructor, very enjoyable trip. Keep a lookout for the bright red bus, it's easy to spot.

This was a 4 wd drive trip to the mouth of the Murray R along the beach with no other tourist way of getting there. Shane was very informative and gave us lessons in cockle collecting.
