We loved seeing the wonderful tapestries here - with the detail, the imaginative construction and the superb workmanship. The theatre setting with the sound and light display was great. We also enjoyed the museum, but as it is not easily accessible for those with mobility problems, we did not see all of it.

Impressive needlework, both for skills involved and history behind it. Museum well looked after, interesting, and friendly and helpful staff.

You will be amazed by the sight of this quilt. We visited as part of the Tasmanian Craft Fair. The quilt is well presented in its own gallery. You can enjoy taking in all the details, this is best done with a guide.

Im generally not a quilt type person. At the Deloraine craft fair we thought wed take a look anyway. I was astounded. The quilt took three hundred women three years to complete and it is gorgeous. It depicts the town and it is absolutely beautifully crafted. Thanks girls.

Beautiful textile panels using many kinds of textile art. A true labor of love. Not well advertised or promoted so it is easy to miss this artistic delight.

A stunning display in the Information Centre. $8 entry or $6 concession. There are four large panels about 4 metres by 5 metres depicting four seasons and the history, geography and lifestyle of Deloraine and the Meander Valley in 3D embroidery, quilting, hand painted silk and other aspects of textiles. An audio presentation explains each panel. Tours start every 30 minutes. These are magnificent and they have been created by local artisans. The staff are very helpful in assisting you for accommodation or maps and tours etc. You also had free admission to a museum of the historic homestead later pub and it's outbuildings adjoining the Information Centre which was very interesting too.

Visiting Deloraine? Do visit Yarns Artwork in Silk. There are four large silk panels, one for each season, showing all aspects of work in textiles. The audio presentation tells the story of the Meander Valley, its history, its people and lifestyle. This magnificent project is housed at the Deloraine Information Centre, open 7 days a week.

This is an absolutely stunning display - especially if you love textitles, patchwork, quilting and applique, etc. If not, you will still be fascinated by the works and the detail they show. The commentary was terrific and although the light was dim in the auditorium, beams shone on the sections described. Deloraine's culture and place are uniquely depicted in the four panels focusing on the four seasons. I loved it as did my seven year old daughter. This is one of Deloraine's attractions not to be missed.

A wonderfully insightful look into the history and pride of the Deloraine community. The intricate details, combined with information about the kinds of materials used provided a great presentation that had the Wow factor. Not to be missed.

I'm crafty but my husband isn't. I think I enjoyed this more than he did, yet he was highly impressed nonetheless. It cost $18/family to hear a recording about the four panels and then you have about 10 minutes to look until the lights turn off. Your entry fee also gives you access to the "musuem." This is a bit of a hodgepodge of things, mostly olden day things. The neatest part of the museum was a water pool full of musical instruments.

We were surprised by the amazing skills that went into the silk four panels that make up the main attraction. But there is far more- a great museum in the old farmhouse that is part of the $8 per head experience. Enjoy!

The "Yarns" display is well worth a visit to Deloraine to view. The small charge is well worth it, both for the stunning silk work panels, but also the immaculately maintained outdoor displays of local history. Be sure to visit both, and the helpful staff are great touring guides too.
