yet another great outdoor walk with the airwalk being centre of attention. great for seeing just how high trees really are,and great views of the river. if you took a backpack with food and drinks it makes for an inexpensive day out for a family well worth the effort

Fantastic adventure , I'm terribly afraid of heights but this was a beautiful scenic walk and the views are wonderful I even went across the swinging bridges and although I did take my time it was amazing it rained along the way but the smell of the trees and air after the rain is sensational , you really know your in the Australian bush I highly recommend this to anyone

While its not many Km from Geeveston the road takes a while to drive, leave time to stop off at a few views. Use the loo before you set off and make sure you have a warn top. The air walk was a hit, we also did the swinging bridges extension, make sure you dont miss that part. The distances dont take as long as the signs says so dont be put off by 1 hours etc, on reflection my tip is do the walk in reverse order, go to swinging bridges and then the air walk. Good for teenagers.

We were on a week's holiday in Tasmania staying in Hobart. A friend offered to take us for a day trip in his car showing the sights. And the sights shown were fantastic! We drove from Hobart via Huonville to Geeveston and were asked if we wanted a stop at the Tahune Airwalk. It was only another 30+kilometres and we said yes. We never regretted the drive through the hills BUT you should not do this if you are in a hurry because the road is not only very scenic but very windy as well. We arrived at Tahune Airwalk to find that the entry fee was a whopping $27 per adult! That would have been $81 for the three of us. We decided to not spend that amount of money on a view over trees and a valley and have a cappuccino instead in the nice café and have lunch elsewhere. It proved to be the best decision of the day as after finishing our looking around drove via Francistown to Dover expecting to have lunch in that pretty town. BUT ... the café was closed for renovations; the coffee shop was closed; and there wasn't anything else but the RSL club which we did not want to visit on this occasion. We decided to drive on to Southport - nearly the southern most town of Tasmania, and see if anything was on offer there. Well, we stopped at the Southport Tavern and found to our surprise that not only the Tasmanian beer Cascade was on offer but we were in time for Fish and Chips and a Fisherman basket! WOW ... never tasted such quality meal as this one in a fish and chip shop. I am not one for recommending food but you have to try this. It is worth the effort of getting there and the pinnacle of a day out and about. After that excitement we drove back to Hobart via Huonville; Cygnet; Verona Sands; Middleton; Snug and Kingston. This was one of our best travel days and I must recommend it to you. You will have seen a beautiful part of Tasmania and never regret it. Staying only for a few days? Do this trip and you will have wonderful memories of Tassie as the locals call it. PS If you happen to travel to or past Coffs Harbour New South Wales stop at the Coffs Harbour Airwalk lookout - it is free and so should the Tahune Airwalk have been!

My husband and I did the long drive into this place, not with any real idea of what it was. I left there like I'd been walking on air, as I sat through the 40minute video - very long, but very informative of the logging of Huon pine, which I knew nothing about. Would suggest a shorter 5 to 10 minute video in the actual air walk and immediate area, as the video talks about the whole of the Huon forest, which isn't about the place itself. So keep the long video, but have a short video as well about why this air walk was built.Really enjoyed the walk and we had lunch at the reasonably priced cafe. Beautiful spot and can highly recommend it.

We did the walk and enjoyed the views from the air walk. The loop track over the swing bridges was also fun. The times given to walk the tracks are generous. It cost A$54 entry for the two of us. The cafe was excellent and not to expensive. There is a film about the history of getting Huon Pine. It would have been nice to see a film on the reason, making and future of the air walk. Perhaps in the future this will be developed. The road to the air walk is 26 km and at the beginning there were a few potholes. However, 6km in it is a lot better and sealed all the way.

A pleasant stroll gets you to the airwalk which gives great views of the bush and the river- interesting to view the trees from the perspective of the birds. The walk is very stable- a bit more swaying would add some additional fun!

Amazing day of walking and experiencing some of the forests of Southern Tasmania. Make sure that you take in the other walks associated with the airwalk. A great experience. Go into the Forest and Heritage Centre in Geeveston to get your tickets and add to the total experience.

Loved the whole experience - walking amongst the tree tops & on the forest floor, then crossing the swing bridges over the Huon & Picton Rivers. After our walk we enjoyed some lovely salmon in the restaurant overlooking the river.

It is a scenic route to the Air Walk from Geeveston lined with huge tree ferns and lush thick forest. The Air Walk itself is a bit disappointingly short although the cantlilever section is spectacular.
