mount broke wines

A few friends and I dropped in to Mount Broke winery, and were absolutely blown away by the quality of their wines. Phil and Gina were charming hosts, and we spent a lovely hour going through their wines, with nibbles, and one of the best views from a cellar door in Australia. The Chardonnay I could have drunk all day long. The Barbera is one of the best I have tasted, and the 2010 Shiraz knocked my socks off.A little out from the main wineries, but if you haven't been there, you have missed out on an absolute gem ...

Let me explain the title - I am reluctant because I don't want rushes of crowds going to this winery and ruining it's charm!! My Fiance' and I first went to Mount Broke winery in October last year, we met one of the wine makers, he was extremely passionate about the wine making and grape growing process and also very passionate in story telling. Having found some beautiful wines in last visit, we made the drive out to Broke again this trip to stock up on their wines that are not commercially available anywhere else. We also joined their wine club.There an onsite cafe and you can purchase glasses of the wine and enjoy them on the deck overlooking the winery.In both of our visits to this winery we were pretty much the only customers there, which is why this winery is so nice. Not a tour bus to be seen, heaven!
