幽静的地方,原来是驻军的堡垒,二战时据说曾做为防日本入侵的据点,现在还有不少遗迹。因景色美后成为了国家公园,相对于喧闹的曼利海滩,这边是截然不同的世外桃园。

Grab a map at the info centre and get ready for the most stunning walk of your life. Passing beautiful and secluded harbour beaches, you climb your way through national park and up to Sydney's best viewing point. Pop into the North Head centre for some info on the history of the area (or do a tour on weekends). Make sure you check out the walking trails and visit the Hanging Swamp. After looping around North Head on foot you head down through more gorgeous national park and over Shelly Beach (great view from the headland) and meander gently back into Manly town centre. Unforgettable! The Bella Vista cafe is also good for lunch!

In Manly? you must visit North Head, drive right up Darley Rd you can't miss it. The views across the area from Manly to Sydney and right round past Watson's Bay almost to Bondi are breathtaking.

Behind the cafe at North head is a memorial walk with a viewing platform. there is a car park nearby, it is well worth a visit, the view is fantastic on a clear day. Saturday afternoon with the yachts and ferris is a sight you should not miss.

Once you get past the traffic of Manly this is a nice drive up to the park. Plenty of paid parking available - day pass for about $3. At the end of the road there's a loop walking path that has a few lookouts, the best being the ones that allow a view of the city and harbour. Path is easy and smooth, good for elderly and wheelchairs. With all the walkers going past there's not a huge amount of bird life to see, but you never know.

Great walk and view. We walked around from Little Manly and past the gas works site. We saw a waterfall on the way. It was a perfect day in February.

Arriving from Sydney with the Ferry, you've got a few choices in Manly. Our of these appealing Pub along the beach, the beach itself watching surfers and swimmers or you decide to go for a walk around North Head. If you make that choice you won't regret it. Walking along the Ocean on your left, you are going to quickly abandon the construction area to walk "in the bush" Front North Head you can contemplate the Channel through which to first Colons came a few Centuries ago. I did this tour on a Saturday Afternoon and hundred of Sailing boat were "regating" in the Gulf. Realy outstanding.

Short drive or bus trip from Manly, or you can be adventurous and walk or cycle! Stunning views across Sydney Harbour Heads and across to the city. Lots of well signed walks to enjoy all on the flat so suitable for all ages. Not to be missed on a trip to Manly.

After sitting on the beach, we fancied a short walk, and the North head was close by, the trail is quite short, but there were some nice coastal views and a very pleasant breeze on a hot day.. A few information boards tell you something of the history of the area.. Worth a visit

If you have a couple of hours, do not miss to get up here, the view is terrific, overlooking whole Sydney!

Can't recommend north head due to parking fee robbery - why cant visitors enjoy the place without having to shell out dollars? Ok, you can ride or walk here which is recommended, but no go for drivers.
