Our group of 4 was fortunate to spend a fantastic afternoon with Ken Helm at Helm Winery. Helm winery was established in 1973 and the cellar door is located in the charming old 1888 Toual Public School House.The Helm riesling and shiraz reflect the 'terroir' that makes Canberra a unique wine area. Our experience was made outstanding by the generosity of wine industry elder statesman, Ken at the cellar door. He was so informative at the cellar door and took us on a tour of his historic cellar, the wine making facilities and explained the process and showed us his modern and traditional winemaking equipment and the adaptations he has made over 40 years. It was a fabulous afternoon and we were all in awe of this legend of the Canberra wine district. Thank you Ken.
