It was a short walk through the park and a steep climb to the lighthouse cliff, which was rewarded with the great view to seal rocks and surrounding beaches. Interesting history and worth a visit if you are in the area.

Spent a weekend here recently with my sister and mother for a big O Birthday and we were blown away with this spectacular location, historical lighthouse and light house keepers cottage accommodation. Quite, peaceful surroundings with amazing views in every direction snugly positioned in the National Park so bush and beach views- no houses!. We are a travelling family and have seen some fabulous world tourist sites over the years and this delightful find of a 1875 lighthouse still working its amazing technology was a real treat. Standing under the giant rotating beams on a starry summer night will go down as one of my life highlights. You feel you are enclosed in a giant dancing cone shaped light show.The managers of the accommodation are helpful, friendly and truly appreciate this significant location there are entrusted to care for. There are some gorgeous fissures in the rocks leading to the LH which create a blow hole effect and are worth a look. Lots of lovely walks. we think we saw a seal frolicking in the evening surf.The one negative is the 4 wheel drive cars on the lovely Lighthouse beach and the lack of a decent cafe and food in the little village of Seal Rocks.Highly recommended to nature and peace lovers who value history and natural beauty.

The stroll to the lighthouse is easy for all ages but the last hike up to the lighthouse itself could be challenging for some (old & new) but the view from the lower grassed area over the beach & the actual Seal Rocks itself is still worth the visit. I keep promising myself that we will stay at the keepers cottages one day and it's on the list. The day we got was windy with a capital 'W' but clear as a bell. You look to the south over Lighthouse Beach & then Submarine Beach and if your lucky you get to watch Sea Eagles , Kites & maybe a Dingo or two down by the dunes ? The history behind the lighthouse and the many wrecks is displayed on boards around the site and the view is one I can never tire of , well worth the drive & the access road from the Lakesway is now fully sealed , beats the old dirt drive.

It was quite a steep walk to the top, but well worth it! I ate lunch with my girlfriend at the grassy top of the cliff. Excellent views and interesting information about the history of the land. The lighthouse was really interactive, you are able to climb all the way to the top railing and behold beautiful Seal Rocks and the further north coast. The breeze up there is definitely refreshing!

The lighthouse and keeper's house sit above lighthouse beach and is worth the walk up for the view and little bit if history of the area.

We stopped off to look a whales on the way, then walked up to the lighthouse at seal rocks. The views are amazing from there. There is accomodation at the top as well. Such a pristine and peaceful place, we loved our day here.

its well worth the walk, the views are stunning and if you're lucky you'll get good views of passing whales. There is accommodation onsite but needs booking in advance. The beach is one you can drive on and

From the car park is a pretty short walk through the temperate rainforest to get to the lighthouse. A small museum with interesting facts, then walk up to the lighthouse for spectacular views and even a great spot for whale watching. Definitely worth a visit.

After having stayed a couple of nights to celebrate a special anniversary & birthday we wished we had stayed longer. The stay in the cottage took us back in time and was uniquely presented. Nothing had been missed. The location has a peaceful ambience which made for a very romantic stay. We just love Seal Rocks! We must not to forget the most friendly staff & their kind gesture. All we had to bring was our food. The views are to behold where you can just sit and watch the whales pass by or wander around the National Park, the tiny village and 3 beaches all within walking distance. It is a must to walk a short distance up to the lighthouse at night and stand under the lighthouse beams and watch them dance around the ocean and headlands. There is a very small store where you can purchase essential items. 20 minutes towards Forster there is Smith Lakes Recreation Club, Blueys Beach, Boomerang and Elizabeth Beaches and Pacific Palms Recreation Club. We have visited Seal Rocks on many occasions but never stayed at the lighthouse cottages. We would highly recommend this beautiful place to stay for a special occasion or just to relax and unwind.

Its beautiful up there! Lovely walk in and fantastic views from up top. Very special spot and a must see if you're in the area.

The lighthouse is just 45 minutes south of Forster and 3 hours north of Sydney. A short walk takes you to Sugarloaf Point wher you can overlook a magnificent beach. The architecture of the lighthouse itself is a credit to colonial workmanship. The keepers' cottages are very well maintained. You can stay there and experience this magic place. It is also close to seaside villages and Boomerang Beach, another fantastic place.

Got to see the lighthouse and the beautiful views of the ocean and beaches. We also saw the seals swimming!

A bush walk of about 500m along the service road for the lighthouse (no vehicle access) brings you to the cottages of the lighthouse keepers, which now provide tourist accommodation. A walk (steep) about 50m up the hill path (paved) and you are at Sugarloaf Point Lighthouse. On a clear day you can see south to Port Stephens, and west to 'where ever', and north up the coast. The lighthouse is an excellent place for watching whales during their annual migration up and down Australia's east coast.

Stunning views, gorgeous walk and when you get there you can watch the dolphins surf the waves,It is a sight to see high above the cliffs and if you are lucky enough you can stay at the stunning heritage homes that are there. Whales can be seen during May - September, going back for that.Well worth the trek.
